I have exactly the same problem. I updated the app and from that moment on Ebay won't start anymore on the iPad. When clicking on the Ebay icon the app opens up and you see the usual Ebay logo and after 20 seconds the app automatically closes again

Actually, it doesnt work on the new iPad either.

There is a problem with this version of the iPad app itself.

Doesn't work on my first gen iPad. When the icon is touched the eBay logo starts up and then after about 15/20 seconds the app closes and returns to the home screen.

I have subsequently discovered that if you delete the old app and reinstall it again it works.

Hi. Mobilefeedback, any chance of posting something on the App Store to say what you are doing about this, and what users can do about it right now? If you check the current feedback on the app store for the latest version of the app you will see you have over 500 people reporting the same issue. Surely you can reproduce this issue yourself without needing to ask forum members for help?

The new update to this app (2.1.0) did not work. The app screen opened with the eBay logo for approx 5 seconds and then crashed, exiting the app completely.

As the guy on this post said, deleting the eBay app and reinstalling it seems to have made this app version work.

All watched and stored items are there on login as you'd expect.

I am using the iPad2, iOS 5.1.1 (latest).

EBay, why aren't you quality assuring your apps before release!!? Extremely poor to release ANOTHER buggy version.
