This is still happening as of today.  Hopefully none of my buyers this round used the iPhone app, because my own items are showing "Free" shipping in the app when they are not supposed to.  When you see the items in the search, the Free shipping is shown.  If you go to "details" in the listing using the app then it does show the correct calculated shipping amount.   Obviously a glitch in the app, but one that could certainly cause some problems for both buyers & sellers.

I had this exact same thing happen to me today and went ahead and honored the free shipping b/c her app did show it. I had to eat the cost as well as a seller. This is NOT GOOD business ebay! I'm definitely going to call the customer service tomorrow. This glitch has to be fixed in the app.

I show this randomly on a couple of new items I listed today, but when I "pull down" the list to "update" it, it will show the correct shipping charges as listed, or if I click on the item details and then return to the Seller's column, it will show the correct shipping charges as well.

I am very frustrated as a seller, because I do not want this to happen to me anymore.

I see my "calculated shipping" items as FREE if I am logged into my account. If I use a different browser that has no ebay cookies for me, it shows as "calculated" as it should.

On the iPhone app, it shows as FREE both in the main listing AND the drill down -- but then, I am logged into my account on the iPhone so that may have something to do with the drill-down being wrong.

Very frustrating!  I am selling some heavy stuff!

I just called ebay customer to report this, again.  Since March I have had at least 5 sales, in which the buyer thought the S/H was free.  All buyers were using the ebay phone app, but I don't know from what type phone.

Each time I called, the tech told me this was the first report.  On my 2nd-5th calls, I asked them to check the notes on my account, because it has been reported...by me. 

Then I'm told, well we havent had enough complaints for it to register as "system-wide".  I referred them to this discussion board (which has several threads), where you mention reporting it.

Their answer.. just explain to your buyer.  Sure, I can tell my buyers it's an app issue; but I still have to eat the postage or cancel the sale, because they're not going to pay postage for an item they bought because s/h was free.  Especially, when they call ebay and are told there's no issue.

A few of the buyers, were quite abusive; accusing me of cheating and using foul language.

Here's my  question --ebay are you listening-- " Exactly how many complaints is enough to warrant a fix?

I just had the same thing happen to me.  Buyer bought 2 items with an iphone which they saw 'free shipping'.  Left me 2 negative feedbacks before I even knew there was a problem.  Said I was a rip off.  Contacted Ebay and they told me that it looked like free shipping from their end.  I told them that on my screen the shipping was correct.  We went around and around for an hour and they were no help only telling me to resolve the issue with my customer.  I've just about had it with Ebay!  I won't list any more items until they fix the app situation.

I have customers that have Android 2.0 and it shows my auctions as free shipping when they are not. Matter of fact it wants to give free shipping to Australia. I can not make the customers revert back to 1.8 so I get charged by eBay for the shipping final value fee and I have to give the customer free shipping eating all of the cost.

Another "Me too".  Disappointing that problems like this just go on for months leading to years.  Also disappointing that I can no longer just shoot an e-mail to tech support to report this problem, but must wait until they're open, then wait on hold until they close.

Then, there have to be enough reports of this problem for eBay to admit that it's not "just you" having the issue.  Maybe it has to be on the news before they'll take notice.

It's enough to make me want to give up selling on eBay.  I got into this because it was fun and profitable.  Take away the profit and add angry customers due to issues I can't resolve, and what's the point?  I can get that from my day job!

As of 2-11-13 the problem still exist. Don't bother calling eBay! First time they said it had been fixed and that the seller more than likely mistaken with another ad. Second time just the next morning, I verified through a mobile app and yes it said free shipping until you checked out. Then called eBay again and they said sorry and that I should just post it on my ad that there was no free shipping. Ridiculous to think that a company so large could not fix something so small but detrimental to sellers on an already tight profit margin. 

I sent screen shots back in October...still not fixed!!! How about fixing the bloody app!!!!!!!!
