(Hank Hill Voice): This Venue Ain't Right!

Nov 5, 2009 9:41 AM
I need to vent!!!!!

I sell a 13 year-old work truck for $2200 on here. Guy comes to pick it up and gives it a TWO FREAKING HOUR inspection- which is no problem, as we tell our winning bidders, if they don't like it, they don't have to take it. After his 2 hour inspection, he finds no faults and drives it away.

Almost a month later and after putting 1000 miles of use on it, he suddenly discovers many problems ;) and wants to know what I am willing to do about them! (Suddenly, after 1000 miles, it's not running good anymore...the exhaust has developed leaks...yada, yada...)

I don't know...maybe I'm the one who's crazy for not warrantying a 13 year-old $2200 work truck for 5 years/50,000 miles???

So now the guy negs me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't take it any more!

Now a days, EBM is just a small part of my advertising.....but this is just so disgusting and so unfair, I don't see myself putting up with this nonsense much longer.

Look at the rest of my feedback..........and it's ruined by this one idjit over an old $2200 truck that he was able to put 1000 miles before finding any problems....(not to mention his 2 hour inspection!).

THIS STINKS!

You didn`t give the buyer a million mile warranty? Shame on you. Selling on ebay sucks. Buyer was trying to get money from you. It`s a shame there is people like that in this world. Looks to me like he got a good deal.

It's unreasonable that a buyer can give a negative rating to a seller, but a seller can't negatively rate a buyer any more. There are some real scam artists out there taking advantage of this. :-(

It always amazes me when somebody buys an older vehicle on ebay and then complains if they have to put some money in it.

Ebay most definitely needs to change the way feedback is left on the motors side of ebay.

This is just my opinion but this is what I would like to see.

1.No feedback is allowed for buyer or seller if a vehicle that is sold has over 100,000 miles on it.

2. If a vehicle sells for at trade-in or wholesale price no feedback is allowed.

3. Set a price like feedback on a vehicle can only be left if that vehicle sells for over $5,000 and it doesn't have over 1000,000 lies on it.

I had one hit the button, send me a deposit and drive across Texas , New Mexico and half of Arizona to pick the truck up. Upon arrival, him and his three buddies crawled all over the truck for better than 2 hours.

After their thorough ametuer inspection the guy backed out of the deal bacause the passenger tail light didn't work.:O

I'm serious here. I offered to replace the bulb or check / fix whatever problem it had. He said no. That he would be worried about the tailight all the way home.

Told me to keep the $500 deposit for my trouble.

I was disappointed that the truck didn't sell but I guess you can't win them all.;)

I replaced the bulb and relisted the truck.

So let me get this right.

This guy buys a 1997 13 year old WORK TRUCK with 171,000 miles on the clock, ,inspects it,pays and drive away.

The auction ended 9/20/09. It is now Nov 4.:O

This guy puts 1000K miles on it and comes back with issues and a Neg!:_|

This is just so wrong.

Ebay needs to stop this kind of nonsense on EBM.

Ebay wake up and protect your sellers from SCAMMERS like this buyer!X-(

Aww..thanks, everyone. I knew yous guys (and gals) would understand.

Misery loves company.

At least I feel a little better, knowing that others can see the absurdity of this.

Two-Ten: Wow! Talk about weirdo buyers!!! If that were me, the guy would've wanted his deposit back- plus travel expenses, and then would have negged me!!

I feel for you there nyclynj

I tried to give it back, he refused and I just figured I shouldn't argue with the customer.

We actually sat under the mulberry tree for a while shootin the breeze. Nice guy. We parted ways somewhat friends.

I suspect we all got it coming sooner or later
