Mass Shooting at Ft Hood Kileen TX.

There has been a mass shooting at my son's post at Ft Hood. :_|Possibly 3 shooters, only one in custody. The base is in lock down.

It appears there are three shooters in three locations!:_|

First reports are one incident was at/near the PX Prep Center,The house theater and the third possible at the Sportsmans center range.


I just spoke to my son , he is fine . Thankfully he was in his barrack recovering from surgery yesterday.

I thank the Good Lord for sparing my boy!


Pray for the families of the Unconfirmed 7 dead and 20 others injured. My heart goes out to these folks.:(

My son will call me back in a short while as more detail come out.

Your son is in our daily prayers and will continue to be.

Listening to the news, it gets worse by the hour.

The Army has now confirmed 9 dead and 27 wounded.:_|

Now 12 dead and 31 wounded. Eye witness accts say the shooters were soldiers.:_|

The first incident was at the soldiers readiness facility.

Posting, you and your son were the first people I thought of when I just heard this on the local news.

Glad your son is OK, and I pray for the other families.

I thought someone else had remarked that their son was also at Ft Hood, and it would be nice if your son and theirs had hooked up.

Yes themetalpeddler's son is also at Ft Hood and we are trying to get them together. They are in different units and will deploy at the same time in Fall 2010


Ft Hood is a huge place, really like a very large city.


My son was having surgery yesterday. I wanted to go be with my son the first few days of his recovery.

Since he is recovering in his barracks, not in the hospital, it just would not have worked.

I guess The Good Lord was looking out for my son and I , once again.

Glad everythying is ok for you and yours posting, and I feel for those that were not as fortunate.

Makes me wonder tho, what could the motive for their actions. You just never know these days what is going to set someone off.

I was in military service myself and always wondered why we weren't armed all the time. We were after all............ Soldiers.

Preliminary word is the first shooter was an Officer a Major, who had voiced issues about the impending deployment.X-(


My son says it is very busy and kaotic right now, while they are still under lock down.:_|

Well Royal Fudster, it now seems the shooter identified as a psychiatrist Maj. Malik Hasan recently sent down from Walter Reed. He had recently received poor performance reviews.:_|

I`m glad everyones relatives on base were o.k. Said on the news there was only one shooter. Two others were questioned and released. Say a prayer for all the people who lost loved ones.

Shooter was Muslum and had been requesting NOT to be deployed for sometime.:_|

Got his medical degree courtesy of the Army, wanted out and not to be deployed.X-(

This is per his cousin and family members being interviewed live .

This is so sad for those who were lost today.:_|

And they're still rehashibng on the news 3 hours later.
They haven't said anything new in at least 2 hrs but they've said the same things every way possible.
