Registering vehicle out of state

Was wondering if someone could help. Purchased a vehicle in Mass and I live in Fla. I am flying up to pick the truck up next week but I am not sure if I can put my plate that I am transfering to this truck on this truck? I know I am covered under the insurance for 30 days and I heard 3 days for registration. Thanks

This deal does sound a little shakey to say the least but as to your questions you have a couple of options on driving it back. request a temp tag from a florida tax collector office and that you need a temp tag for transport back, you will need the vin #. The other (maybe better) option is to have a fl. lic. dealer complete the paperwork for you and do a tag transfer or temp tag transfer of your metal tag you will be transferring. Your insurance can add it now to your policy. Good luck and hope it works out for you.
ALWAYS investigate any purchase and especially the salvage branded titled vehicles. They can be a nightmare and unsafe, just because a bodyshop inspects it means NOTHING, Remember it was a total loss for the insurance company and they would not write it off 100% for a small hit.

Wow, almost 15,000 views on this topic! Never would have thought this post would last this long.
The truck has been great. While it was parked at the marina, some f'n moron decided to do karate practice on the truck. Dented and scratched the door, fender. hood and busted off mirrors. They caught the dude "meth head" and he has to pay restitution. Good note is what ever flaws were in the truck were fixed when I had it repaired.

Update. I went and got the truck over the weekend. All is good and I really like the truck. Drove great for the 1200 miles. Few minor issues as to be expected. Overall, great deal for 13k. It did have just a tick under 58k. Just wanted to let everyone know it ended up working out. Thanks again for all your wisdom and advise through this e-bay journey from hell. It has been an experience to say the least.

One of the last vehicles I hauled into Copart was a 2010 Chevy 4x4 extended cab.It was stolen off the dealers lot,and recovered about 60 days later.Mileage was under 100 miles! The only items missing were the wheels, tires, tailgate ,and rear tailights.Someone got a great salvage truck for only $14k.Point is there is easy salvage and there is hard salvage. If you dont know the difference, then its best not to buy, especially over the internet.Good luck. Not Again ? LOL
I wish that one was a little close , I would love to check it out for You,just to see in what condition it was really in , that dent in the left rear fender doesn't look like enough of a reason to total it ?

I was just looking and this one caught my eye. I laughed at the description, runs and drives but the rest was rules to bid. This obviously isn't his first rodeo either. Then I looked at the vehicle history and it didn't state salvage. The pictures didn't show enough to look like a salvage vehicle. Shows a vehicle rating of 91 above average. This one to me throws up way more flags than the one I just went through. I didn't even look at where it was. Just was thinking to myself, here we go again.
To the OP...AGAIN,this seller says its salvage,AUTOFARCE is probably updated every month to 90 days,so thats understandable. The autofarce number means nothing,in fact 91 MAY be how it scores it due to the salvage NOT being recorded yet to them. The description is very good,as the seller makes it very clear what he is selling.I dont see a problem on that auction. If a buyer buys it AZZuming an easy fix,WITHOUT an inspection, then shame on him. There are various reasons for becoming salvage. For all we know this was stolen off a lot, recovered after 30 days, and had been paid off by an insurance company. And they dont have to be mangled to be totalled. We have a current seller/poster on these boards who sells a ton of salvage, but lists them very well and almost never has a problem.REMEMBER,your best bet is to inspect in person, buy it the old fashioned way. I can't see ragging on the seller of that truck in the last auction mentioned. They have nearly plastered that ad with more notices, warnings, and disclaimers than is humanly possible from the title all the way through to the end of the description. Rebuildable salvage... Title: Salvage.... We are a salvage dealership... We sell salvage and damaged vehicles... Safe to assume all vehicles have frame damage... That's just getting warmed up. I put that one on the watch list. We'll see if some weeks from now the seller gets a neg for "sold me a junk vehicle! I been frauded! Theef!"

This is not something I like to do by getting into the middle of a deal. But I can get ahold of a couple of dealers I know and see what they have for a 2-wheel drive. You will not get a deal on a 4-wheel drive the dealers here have no trouble selling them at all. A truck like what you where first trying to buy on ebay would bring about 50 cents on the dollar here that has a clean title while a salvage truck would be around 30 cents on the dollar. Because nobody here wants a 2-wheel drive. Just remember that you would have travel expense's so not sure how you are saving any money. I see in our local papers every once in awhile where somebody brought a truck up here from down south and trade them in because they are useless here.

There used to be a salvage dealer over by Harrsisburg,Pa.that sold a lot on ebay...I bought 4 from him over several years, years ago.He stopped selling on ebay due to people buying with"stars in their eyes"...People who dont know and understand salvage should not buy on ebay ,especially if they dont inspect the vehicle,IMO. It has been awhile, but I have bought several vehciles via ebay. I always paid with cash, no deposits. I always picked up my vehicle in person. I always got a emailed photo copy of the title prior to investing time and money on a trip..I just tell them my bank needs it before they will release funds to me.. I have made a few dry runs, but never bought a problem...

The disclaimer is hilarious.
says 10,500 miles - wrong
Autocheck score 91
Autocheck doesn't pick up the salvage title.
I like the disclaimer..as you can see by his feedback, typical ebayers arent looking at what they are buying, which is a WRECKED ,SALVAGE vehicle...They are probably buying based on the dollar amount, have little or no experience with rebuilding wrecks!.As to the score, that is almost always a farce!...that number means nothing in the real world!...And it may not have picked up the salvage part if it was recently changed to that status...chances are if you run it in 30-45 days it would show.
Pictures suck, description sucks but he sure does cover his azz. "Sometimes the biggest enemy we have,is one we deal with every day"
