Its probably a scam if the seller mentions:
An EBay escrow service. (EBay doesn’t have one)
Western Union
A dead relative or friend
Asks that you accept a larger than agreed on price and refund the rest.
Asks to pay by any money order other than a USPS money order
Offers to sell you any car that makes you ask your sell how they can sell it so cheep.
The auction has a below salvage/wholesale buy it now
The auction is a private auction and requests you email the seller prior to bidding
You can not use any of the eBay linkable features such as look at the seller’s feedback or ask the seller a question
If no matter where ever you go on the page an email icon follows you.
If the item is in a foreign land and must be shipped back to the us (us cars overseas are generally worth 4x~10x more than they are here)
If for any reason you feel something isn’t right about the listing
Do yourself a favor come to EBay motors discussion board and ask first. Let the experts tell you if it’s a scam or not. If we tell you it’s a scam don’t argue, don’t try to say but what if. TRUST US it’s a scam.
Don’t fall victim be proactive ask before you send your money. No deal is so fantastic that it can’t wait a few minutes for someone on this forum to investigate it for you. Don’t trust us? Use Live help.
