Hello,

First of all, I am French, maybe it'll excuse my question if it seems so stupid to you. I'm only buyer on Ebay, in particular of jewels or silver findings.

My problem is the following one: in item descriptions it's often indicated "sterling silver plated"! As regards products sold in France, there're articles "sterling silver" or 925 silver", what means that they're in "solid/plain silver" not plated silver".

What it means for me? I find myself with a jewel whiche changes colors because th "plated silver" goes away or allergies because I cannot wear something else than "plain/solid silver"!

Frencj legislation doesn't allow to sell jewels with an eroneous mention "solid silver" is not "plated silver", why not to explain to the sellers the differences of names or more important to teach them to differentiate the materials?

Bonjour,Thallys65,comment allez-vous? Most buyers in this country know that plated silver means a thin layer of sterling silver over base metal.

There are many sellers on Ebay, and China is the worst culprit, that will sell plated silver as sterling silver. The best thing you can do to protect yourself here, is to always check a sellers feedback. If he has negative feedbacks for selling plated silver as sterling, hit the back button fast.

Unfortunately, many buyers still dont realize that you get what you pay for on Ebay, they look for a bargain, and dont bother to check the quality of the item or the sellers feedback.

If people would stop buying from these scammers, they would soon be out of business here.
