This buyer wants to return a $200 bracelet I sold to her.  She made an offer, I counteroffered etc.  Here is her email I received this morning.....

Hi there

I am very sorry, but this bracelet is not quite what I expected/was looking for. Im very sorry, its nothing on your part. Just a misunderstanding. I thought from the pictures that it was heavier on the gold color...which is what I needed. I saw that you do accept returns...I assure you its in the exact same condition as when recieved. Ive only taken it out of the case one time. Please let me know what address to send it to and I will go ahead and send it tommorow. Thanks..and again, I hope this didn't cause you any trouble.
I don't get it...is this a REAL reason to have to do a return??????   WHAT WOULD YOU DO??????  By the way, this is my first EVER request for a return in over 230 transactions.  Thanks in advance!!!!

I have had 1 or 2 simular transaction...I found the best way I handled it was to say "I sorry the item was not to your liking and as soon as I recieve my item as sent to you I will gladly refund payment and ORIGINAL shipping". Return shipping on them. No need to argue with them, and the more you are willing to just work w/ them, the better chance you will get a positive FB....argue w/ them, you will lose anyways and probably get a Neg.

Better to accept the return gracefully so the buyer doesnt open a case against you, which she will. Every case opened is a black mark on your Ebay record.

Absolutely, accept the return and issue a refund.  At least, that is my policy with returns.

I don't even want a reason from the buyer...if it wasn't what they expected, or they are not happy with it for any reason, I personally don't want to be the one to make someone have something that they don't want...

No questions asked, is my policy.  And, I'd rather get an email like the one that you got than a huge made up story.

I wouldn't sweat it. That looks like a great bracelet and you should have no problems re-selling it. I would accept the return and move on.

Returns do happen and it is a fact of ebay. Just make sure she uses insurance, etc...

If you have a return policy, follow it without question. Don't pick fights with buyers, ebay has rigged things in their favor.

All know the way, but few follow it.

Welcome to the world of renters.  I'd take it back.  Chances are she went to her reunion/wedding and no longer needs the bracelet.
