I've read somewhere that the world is going to end in a couple years. Half/eBay would hate to waste programmers' time fixing a minor glitch in light of that.

I am so glad to hear that others are having this problem. I almost had a cardiac when one book as delisted and the next day 8 more were gone. I had 6 children books that were brand new. One book was still in the shrink wrap! I always mention slight shelf wear, whether it is there or not. Is that wrong? I wrote back HDC over a week ago and have not heard anything at all. I feel like Big Brother is watching my every move. I have seen descriptions that are the same in my inventory that were not delisted. This all very confusing as I try to describe my books correctly.

The Big Brother 'Bot has had some fermented databits lately
and is randomly removing listings
(from what we're seeing here on the board).

Wait a while, last removed item I asked about took almost two weeks for them to answer me, and that was at a time when not so many others were inquiring.

Did finally get an answer back from customer service on the first items that were removed.
They were listed "Like New" with detail description of minor shelf wear (rub or tiny bend). The "reason" on each item was that the can have NO WEAR (no creases or rub) in the like new category.
They don't seem to be picking on the "VERY Good" or "Good" categories of what had been recently listed.

AT least finally got an answer as to what was kicking the listing out. so maybe a human is there after all....

They did also acknowledge my request to add our description of what was deleted to the email notification. That way we can see what might have caused the problem.

Have entered only a few more listing since the "axe job" started, as don't want t waste time. Am headed out on vacation for a week, so will check in on the posts to see how it is going.

pug - Feel honored that HDC actually told you WHY these items were removed. It is unusual / unheard of for them to do so. I would see this as a positive sign in this time where most of the indications on this site are negative. Some of us are glad to see the bot actually being used. A combination of better understanding by its' programmers and better understanding by sellers could result in the bot achieving its intended purpose. Getting rid of real violations and keeping good items up for sale.

I just sold two copies of a book that has been gone from my inventory for months. In fact they both sold her. What the heck is going on with HDC? Old listings coming back from the dead and selling on the bay which is worse, because then you have to go and issue a refund, instead of just canceling.

Both issues (reappearing items and items being deleted) have been going on for years. Staff has not fixed these issues. It is not something new.
