There's another sort of weirdness that I just ran across, an author listed by pen name in one place and real name in other places. The book was Cold Steal, by Phoebe Atwood Taylor, writing as Alice Tilton, USBN 0881502693. The main entry for the book displays the name Phoebe Atwood Taylor twice. If you select the first one, you get a list of 44 Alice Tilton entries; the second one gives you a list of one, the book in question. In these lists the name Alice Tilton appears twice as author of Cold Steal. Selecting them produces the same results as selecting the Taylor names in the other display.
If you search on the Tilton name, you get the list of 44; if you search on the Taylor name, you get nothing (even though it shows up twice in a catalog entry).
I suspect this is a generic problem with pseudonyms. There was some chatter about pseudonyms a couple of years ago, but it doesn't look like anything got fixed.
This problem may be outside the scope of this thread, but it seemed at least similar.
