Possible Computer Glich??

Nov 3, 2009 1:22 PM
Received a message from Ebay stating 6 of my newest listings on half.com were removed because my item description did not correctly match the selected quality rating. They were listed as LIKE NEW with the description of:clean,unmarked,tight,shiny,crease-free copy. Most of my like new listings are this way & I have never been removed before.Maybe I should no longer give a description but I was trying to help the buyers by describing what the books were like.I have sent a reply to E Bay requesting clarification but if I dissapear from half it will probably be for not matching the selected quality ratings with my listings????????:(

the 'bot's been busy this week
and sometimes gets things wrong

Wait for the answer before you fret.

It's kinda fun to get an "oops, we didn't mean that" response.

FORWARD the email to service@half.com, and ask "why were my listings removed".

Hopefully you will get a reply.

Had this happen to me a while ago on a book for same reason. sent an email to half and never heard back. thinking about relisting same book maybe wording description differently although I don't know what they objected to.

Never use the word "crease" when listing a book in the "Like New" category.

Even if it doesn't HAVE one, the bot may pick up the word and assume you do in fact, have one.

Good luck, bookreader220. If your message was from Nickolai, reply to him directly in the subject line.

It may not help, but it won't hurt.

Thanks Blue*skies*ahead* for the suggestion. It looks like you were right as I relisted the books last night leaving crease-free out of the listing & they are still there,Unfortunetly I have been listing my books like that for the past 2 years,so 2 pages changed only 41 more to go.haven't had any replies from ebay or half.com.:(

bookreader220,

unfortunately, HDC is slow to reply to emails...
can take weeks.

Some listing violations are removed when other buyers/sellers report them....
Others are removed if the "bot" is up and working.

I had to change many of my listings... I posted a thread and was given advice, but the advice given was not good enough for the "bot".

good luck...
