Hello all,
I am posting this information on behalf of myself, Marni, Meredith, the Half.com team and the catalog team.
We wanted to update you with the catalog addition/correction issues that have been (as you know) a hot topic on the boards for quite some time. We hope that this post will help to clarify expectations and provide information that will be beneficial to you as you submit these requests through the website.
We all participated in a phone call directly with Muze to identify the issues that are impacting you as buyers and sellers. The call was beneficial to both parties as we were able to ask them questions we had with the current process as well as gain an understanding of what their processes entailed. We were also to identify gaps in the process that we can work with them to fill.
To request an addition to the catalog, you will need to complete the form associated with the media type of your item. (i.e. Book, VHS, CD, DVD, Game or Game System) It is important that the information entered is correct and complete. It is also very important to remember to enter in the complete ISBN or UPC code completely and correctly with no extra characters.
If you notice an error on a listing, you can submit a catalog update request (or a correction request) by using the request link at the bottom of the listing page. From here, you can select the specific portion of the listing that is inaccurate and provide the correct information.
Another important issue that we want to address is regarding additions/corrections to media no longer commercially available (or out of print). In these cases, since Muze is not able to verify the accuracy of the content submitted, they are not able to add or correct the data in the catalog.
Whether submitting an addition or correction request, you should see your request reflected on the site within 3-4 weeks. In cases where you do not see the information you submitted, this is most often due to unverifiable information, a typo, missing information, or the item being out of print.
If you have submitted a request with accurate and complete information for an item that is not out of print and do not see it added or corrected in the catalog after 4 weeks, please email me directly at:
Sadie@ebay.com
This will help us identify any problem areas still remaining and work with Muze to get them addressed. Please make sure to include all of the product information with your email.
We appreciate the members that have tirelessly provided feedback on the problems with the process. The posts made here were of great value in our discussions with Muze and we are excited about the progress that has and will continue to be made.
Thank you for your continued efforts.
