After the reports starting coming in...this is the email I sent to service:
Just to update the tech support folks....we are beginning to see an
increase in the number of reports of inventory issues increases.
Folks are listing inventory and after long periods of time they are
still not showing up in their store.
Also, some vague reports of sold items still being available...
The answer I got....was exactly the same as wildflower's.
my mail was from Loni C.M. also.

Just posted this on another thread.... ....I'm still hesitant to believe that relisting will not cause duplicate listings once the system is "revamped, zapped, plugged in." I would hesitate to relist anything I had received a Congratulations on.... I'm also not convinced that sold items during this period will not show back up as available in folk's inventory after the fact.... My hesitation and lack of conviction is due to the historical data that shows..... listings showing up doubled....and sold items magically once more up for sale.... If anyone does relist...I suggest a "test" list....with a way to quickly check and be able to delete if you find it duplicated...

Do the sellers on HDC have glitches like this a lot? It seems as a seller there would be only so much I would be willing to tolerate before I travel down the river, on a one way trip away from here.
Caped~
Caped, some sort of significant glitch, unattended by management, is a constant here. We've learned to call these glitches "features."

I think I have the magical fantastical whit to explain how Book sold his. After checking and seeing that the book: 1. Does Not Appear in Inventory 2. Does Not Appear on the Sale Page for that Item Then go to the link called Shops and put in your bookseller name or cd name or whatever other nifty gadgetry you sell here....... Whoa! So Cool.....there is my item listed for sale!!!!! So IF and ONLY IF a person shops right from your seller shop list they can buy any of the crapola we have attempted to list for sale.

ok ok.... I just sent an email to Service@half.com and titled it Inventory Issues and began with Dear Loni CM, And then explained that the missing items could be purchased through the shops link but not from the listing page, nor seen from our inventory page. I asked her to please pin a thread to this discussion board about this issue too. But we know that will be ignored as usual. I am sure Loni CM would first have to clear that with a Pink who is not interested.

I checked my shop, but nothing I put in on the 28th or 29th shows up. If you want really want to know how wide-spread this is, just click on some individual items and note how many are "unavailable." I checked one of my titles--it was unavailable--so tried a few more entries of the same title. Most of them were also "unavailable" (about 10 or more.) Nothing new is getting downloaded, but sales listed before 3 days ago seem to be going on.

I just checked my "shop" and found the last two books I sold were still there, as well as on the sale page. I tried to put one in my cart and the msg said it was unavailable. I guess that's good.

No books I have listed since 9/27 have shown up in my inventory or for sale at the site. So I am to believe that all of the work i have done the last 3 days will at some point have to be completely done over????? Interesting that the listing appears to have been accepted by Half.....but never shows up. A bad stunt.....

Sorry, I don't bring anything new to the thread - just adding my name to the list of people waiting for my inventory to show up... and sitting with a box full of CDs by computer wishing I could get them in my inventory, but unwilling to do all the work if they won't show up anyway

Has anyone tried editing their existing inventory? Like, putting in a price reduction, or changing the wording in your description or comments on an existing listing? By existing inventory, I mean something you listed more than a week ago and which does show up for sale? In other words, does the edit function seem to work?

I'm going to wait till like thursday to re-list anything(10/5), then only re-list about 10 items, then wait another couple of days, and see what happens... If double listings occur, It will be easy to delete them later, If you MAKE SURE that you note items on a particular day, are relisted.(note to yourself) Example, When this bug is fixed(hopeful), and i see double listings have occured based on inventory listed date, then i will know to delete all that i listed on 10/5... Hope this gives others some ideas, for their situations...

an ongoing glitch in the system....which was noticed sometime in the beginning of August...was when items were removed due to listing violations etc.....they were still showing on the item page...when you clicked on them they were "Unavailable".... HDC had been responding quickly to violation reports so this glitch.....was causing a major pagehogging problem....you would have to go down in some cases 6/7 books before you found one available for sale .... so, the "book not available" may be one that is sold, or one that was removed due to a listing violation, etc.... my last sold was on 9/28...my inventory count has not adjusted downward.... the item sold is till showing in the main site listings...however, it is "unavailable"... but the individual listing is no longer in my inventory... I think we have two issues here....

Well, Just so everyone who is reading this thread and having inventory issues knows, I finally got two canned emails form Half, five days after my inventory initially disappeared. They say they don't have any idea what's going on but this has been forwarded to their technical department and that once items have been "removed from the site they cannot be put back" so we all just need to relist everything apparently. They tell me in both emails (I'm shocked I got one, but TWO!) to relist everything I have. UGH!! I'm not a happy camper and this is going to keep me from going to church today if it is indeed the case. Has anyone had the non-showing new listings show yet?

green..... do what you will take...HDC mgmt advice or not..... as one of our long timers has said...he is waiting until thursday to relist...keeping precise records so its easy to delete if they end up as duplicates... if you go forward(really back) on this thread...you may see the email someone else posted...is it exact.... experience tells me.....listings will end up duplicating, sold listings may end up back as available. good luck....

The last 5 books I listed are not showing. I am on the fence about relisting. I can just see it now they show up twice and I get a big Negative feedback from someone for not having a book to sell. People do have another life and can not be checking their Half. inventory every 5 minutes.

Hi All - Just adding my name to the list of conceerned half dot commers. I, like the rest of you have had the same inventory issues. I list, I get the CONGRATULATIONS message...and the inventory does not show in my detail nor is it listed on the product page. I listed 20 or so items before I figured this out. I am sure some of you listed many many more than that! I, for one have REFUSED to relist those items, or list anything new until I know for sure what the heck is going on. I have to tell you, this is EXTREMELY frustrating. Do they WANT to lose business? This makes no sense. Sorry nothing really new to add...just wanted to include my name to the growing petition. Good luck to all getting through this latest issue!

Relisting doesn't work, the re-listed items don't show up either. What about opening a new account?? has anyone tried that? As a computer consultant with some database experience, perhaps it's just current accounts that are affected.

To open a new account you would have to relist all books you have listed. Who wants to do that or has the time. Many people have hundreds of books listed here. Let Half.com get off their duffs and take care of this site.

I am having the same problem as everyone else. Need help HDC. Books listed within the last two days, are not showing up in my inventory nor the search engine on HDC. Books removed from my inventory are not changing my total number in my inventory. Can you please help. I am not the only one having this problem. All sales have ceased since Thursday, when I have averaged 4 to 5 per day for the last 2 months. What should we do????

Hi all. I have made price adjustments to my inventory and the new price is not showing on the page where buyers select the book/CD to buy. I am also holding off listing anything until I see/hear everything has been fixed. Last sale 9/30/06, 5:11pm (pacific time?).

I adjusted prices Thursday a.m. They do not show up on the product pages, but when you click on either "buy now" or "more info", the new prices are there. Sent an e-mail to cs on Friday a.m. - still no response. Oh my...it's October 1st! Perhaps the earth tilting away from the sun has something to do with this!
