WWI Liberty Loan Campaign BELT BUCKLE, authentic?

Hello there!  I found this belt buckle at an estate sale this weekend.  I've done a little research and found out that this may date to 1918.  The Boy Scouts handled the Third Liberty Loan Campaign and Weapoons of Liberty was their slogan and the image matches the BSA posters.  The stamp on the back says Bay State Jewelry Silversmith Co., Made in England.  It also has a patent number.  It is difficult to read.  The metal is coated to make it look like bronze.  It is worn away in places.  Is this the real deal?  Is it a sought after piece for collectors?  Any idea as to the value?  Any help would be appreciated.

It appears to be a contemporary fantasy piece. I remember they started turning up at flea markets in the late 1970s or early 1980s. You'll see the "Bay State Jewelry Silversmith Co., Made in England" stamp on some and a fake Tiffany mark on others.

Oh bummer, that's what I was afraid of.  Okay, I wasted five bucks.  *shrug*  Now I know better.  Thanks for the info!
