Yes! I was wondering where I could go and chat about decorating! Anyone have a must have decorating magazine subscription? Mine is Creative Home.

I am redoing my daughters room this week and hopefully I will have some pictures soon!! We are painting it pink (of course) and I am thinking about sponge painting a border of hearts in reds and pinks in layers....does that make sense???... Well anyway. I will be glad when it is done and I will be sure to take pictures!!!
Next we have to pick out some new girly furnature!!
It is a very small room so I would like to get her a tall dresser instead of the two mismatched 3 drawer ones she currently has.

Then it will on to the next project!!!

OH, that room will be lovely.. I redid a dresser in a peach and pink sponging effect and added roses for the drawer pulls, my DD's entire room then went around that dresser...It is so gratifying when it's done!

funandvintage: yes I am a visual person...I LOVE to see creative home deco photos! Our home is 2 years new, and I had a friend stop over yesterday and say "wow this room is really coming together" that was nice to hear, but it took me TWO years and I'm still not done, and it's only ONE room!

Hi Bud, I love the cabin mail box. Hard to believe you can ship it for just $10. anywhere in the USA. True?
You know what I think would sell?
A 'tween the studs' magazine rack for the bathroom, some assembly necessary (facia board trim to cover opening in the sheetrock). Just an idea. Best of luck selling on eBay.

I hope you come back and check here. I just want to make you aware of some eBay chat board etiquette.
It is improper use of the eBay chat board to answer posts through the eBay mail system.
It is considered spam.
We have a nice link here to be able to look at one anothers wares/auctions. It's a nice feature we don't want to lose if it's found the link is being used improperly.
The answer you gave me via eBay email is information other chat board people would have liked to know.
One thing you might wish to know is, shipping from Canada takes overly long of late due to customs and the current Orange Alert status.
Sorry, don't mean to browbeat you on this personal email issue. Your information on Canadian shipping costs is welcome here within an answer to my post, for all to read.

I have a question... as you know I have been painting my daughters room...we have really old windows..all wood with the springs int he sides...if you know what I mean..anyway. When you put the windows open there is this piece of wood that shows only when they are open andt here is no direct way to get at it to paint it...it looks bad when the windows are open and I was just wondering if you had any ideas how to get at it to paint it?????

Here is a picture...but it is hard to see..I may have to take another when it is dark outside, the light coming in the window interferes with the camera...

I live in a small home, 860 sq feet. I call it my deluxe 2 bedroom Mouse House!...lol

Actually, it is a very nice little home. I like traditional furniture with very unique accent pieces.

My end tables in the living room look like stacks of books and are all leather. I went to the Sally Ann and bought about 40 hardcover reader's digest books, all assorted colors. I grouped them together in lots and placed them on the floor in different areas of my living room. They look just lovely. Did I mention they were on sale for 5 cents each?

I love to look for and find unique whimsical pictures. I frame them myself and hang them on the wall in groups. They look so professional and I get a lot of compliments.

In the bedroom, I love quilts! I have about 8 different full sets and change them whenever the mood hits me. I just love the "puffed" quilts. I always buy the matching shams and then throw about 4 more decorater cushions on the bed. My bed always looks so inviting and cozy.

Hi Gota Chat,

My old house gave me the same problem with the windows...you have to take the bottom window out, paint the bottom of the top, then put it back, unfortunately!

Jazers, your home sounds wonderful....how about some pics? Would love to see them!

I don't know how to do the picture thing on the internet from a camera yet. My hubby wants me to buy a digital camera and I guess I will one of these days.

I'd love to be able to take pictures and post them.

I am aware you can use your pics from a regular camera, but it all seems so technical to me.

OK...the bottom windows are blocked in at the front...so I have to take the wood out of the frame to get them out and you are saying that is the only way......maybe they will stay closed LOL!!!

Gotta-chat,

My last house had the same windows, but I could push the bottom window down and the top window up so that piece was exposed. I don't know if you can move the top part of your window up and down though.....maybe it has been painted shut and you could loosen it.

Hello Sue!!!

Someone else has too reminded me that the top windows should move down to allow painting of that area....My windows are painted shut at the top by many many many layers of paint...but I may give it a go anyway. Some of the windows in the house do come down from the top (usually on their own LOL) so I can get to them. This house was built in the 20's or 30's I think and my Dad can recall it having the prettiest wood trim throughout ...but one day his mom got a wind hair and when he came home she had painted all the trim ....what a shame but I guess it was the trend at the time.
We also have all wood floors under the carpets that we did use briefly when we moved in...but they need refinished from wear under carpets that were here before we moved in.

This would definately be at least a couple episodes of This Old House LOL!!!

Well---it turns out all the layers of paint have takent heir toll...unless I want to strip paint or tear out frames of the windows they will remain unpainted in that sppot at least in that room...But thanks for all your advice anyway. I can try some of the ideas in other rooms. My whole house needs a coat or two on the inside LOL!!! Some of the windows will come down from the top so Ithink those will be the ones that I can get painted properly. Maybe someday we will start replacing them....someday......I'm dreaming again LOL!!
