Q: Would the following be a proper use of the multi-variation feature:
I have a wide range of Bingo themed shirts. Could I generate a listing that was entitled something like "BINGO T-shirts". And give the buyer the option to choose several different bingo shirts, and several different sizes?
The first drop down box would show:
Bingo bug
Drive me to Bingo
Not tonight honey.. Bingo
I love Bingo
Bingo Ten commandments
Bingo players prayer
Bingo Excuse shirt
Bingo state university
Call my number Bingo shirt
The second drop down boz would show:
Small
Medium
Large
X-Large
2X-large
3X-Large
All designs would go on the same Branded shirt which would be clearly spelled out in the listing. A: Yes, you can use the multi-variation feature to combine these in a single listing as long as they are the same brand/style shirt and only vary by decorative design, size, and color (which you don't mention, but which also could be varied in the listing if you had for example both white and black versions of the same brand/style shirt).
Q: Will this multi-variation listing capability be available in TurboLister? A: Yes, Turbo Lister already supports creating multi-variation listings in the categories where they are enabled currently. It will support the additional categories announced this week when they are enabled later this quarter.
In Turbo Lister as soon as you select a category that is enabled for variations, the Details pane (below category selection) changes to include a Variations section with a "Create Variations" button. To see this, start a draft of a new item and select the "63850 --> Clothing, Shoes, and Accessories > Mens Shoes" category. You'll also see that within the category browser, the information on the right will indicate when the currently highlighted category supports multiple variations.
Q: Can we use TurboLister when uploading the free auctions or they have to be done manually like the 5 free auctions we get now? A: If you list with a selling tool such as Selling Manager or Turbo Lister, all items that begin at midnight (PT) or later on March 30, 2010, will be charged according to the new fee structure. For non-Store subscribers the free insertion fees for auction listings starting under $1 is for any listing tool or SYI.
Q: Will pictures be free in the Ebay Motors - Parts and accessories category if I have a Premium Store?? Due to the nature of what I sell, I use both Ebay Collectibles and Ebay Motors Parts and Accessories. This answer will help me determine if this change benefits me or hurts me. A: The new picture pricing changes does indeed apply to ALL categories on the eBay.com web site for Store owners. In eBay Motors, the FREE image pricing applies to Parts & Accessories categories, but excluded for Vehicles.
Pictures will be free in all store tiers (Basic, Premium and Anchor) including the eBay Motors Parts & Accessories category.
Q: The eBay store listings state free pictures but what about the auction style listings? Did eBay lower the insertion fee just to charge for pictures? Or is the first still free? A: Yes the first picture is still free in auctions. After March 30th up to 12 pictures will be free with a store subscription.
Q: Do Store levels matter in Best Match? Does the level of store you have make a difference in your item's visibility in the core search?
My biggest concern is having my items seen. The best match is still a bit confusing and adding more listings to the fray is scary. Once all the store listings get dumped into core, isn't it going to be even harder for a seller to get their items seen? A: The current listing best practices for Best Match sort optimization will not change after March 30th, and currently the seller tier does not have a bearing on listing rank.
