Not really sure what this item is. There's a pull-out drawer on the right, and a small dome light just below the tower/rocket(?). The piece above the drawer looks like a tray(?). Small red & white push button switch attached at left. You can pull the button and it pulls out like a drawer revealing old wiring for a battery(?) (must have been a large battery?). No markings. Size: 11 x 6 in.

 

Art Deco(?) MCM(?) I have not a clue what this item couls be. Can you help?

I found this round, painted red metal & chrome 1960s(?) ashtray and placed it inside the dish. The ashtray is not original to the item.
