Any Lady Riders here?

Just found Motorcycle Blvd. Love it. Just started riding the beginning of summer. Started on a 1982 Virago 750. Great learner bike. Husband had a Vulcan 800 and he finally let me ride it. So now I have a Vulcan 800 and he went to a Vulcan 1500 Classic. Tried several different bikes. So what do the rest of the ladies have & some experiences from riding? Went on my first LONG ride to Niagara Falls from Southern Kentucky. Great ride (yep we rode, didn't trailer).

Another Lady Rider here.  And can you believe I'm going to be 60 in July?  I started riding back in the 70's on a 350 Honda. Then went to a 650 Norton, a 800 Suzuki Intruder and now I'm on a 1200 Sportster.  We take the motorhome and bikes on vacation every year, love riding up the California coast.  One of the best tips I can give to newbies is never, and I mean NEVER, keep your eye on any object in the road you want to miss.  Always look where you want your wheels to go.  If you stare at that rock in the road you're coming up to, you'll hit it every time.  Pot holes, bumps, dead animals, always look to the side of them, never at them.  Your wheels will follow your vision.  And be careful if you're splitting lanes.  Some people don't appreciate seeing motorcyclists moving up the road while they're stuck in traffic and will try to squeeze you out.  They don't realize that bikes will overheat in stop and go traffic and that's why the law allows us to do that.  (In California anyway).

Happy riding ladies, keep the rubber side down and shiny side up!

Yeah there are at least 2 of us now, lol. I started on a Honda rebel 250. Great little bike two cruise country roads to the beach at 75 MPG. It fit easily in the back of my town and country when I dropped the handle bar. Unfortunately I took it to florida to visit my mom and was hit when a 84 year guy turned left into me on 11/24/10. He crushed my left leg so bad they had to cut it off. I am now learning to walk with a Otto Boch C-Leg. I am now walking with a cain. I can not sit on a normal bike and make foot contact safely to stop. sat on several harleys, hondas, etc. I am thinking about getting a Can-Am Spyder. I can sit comfortably on those and they are more stable then trikes. They just cost triple what a nice Vulcan 800 2008 which I really liked. My family is not happy with me wanting to ride again. I now live in Florida where are you from?

Ladies, please come and join us over at Ned & Skyriders Biker Bar Alley at nedthetoothpick.com  It is quick and easy to register and then find us in the Biker bar. You will be welcomed. We have a Gal there that lost her arm in a bike accident, but is now riding a new chopper with a special prosthetic. Her name is Gypsy and she is down in Louisiana. We have folks from the US, Canada and Australia. In 2010 16 of us and our significant others rented a house in Sturgis for a wonderful reunion and will be back in 2013.

Hope you check us out.
