No emblem on fuel tank

No emblem on fuel tank

I am interested in buying a bike (Kawasaki Vulcan). This bike looks great but does not have the Vulcan emblem on the fuel tank. The seller said that he took it off because the bike looks better in that way. Does this make sense? I suspect that the tank was damaged and replaced. I'd appreciate your opinions on this.

Quite a few guys remove the emblems on Japanese bikes. Somehow they think they can fool the pulic into thinking it is a HD. I have a friend who did that for that exact reason. Strange but true.

I worked for a couple of dealerships and it was not uncommon to "de-badge" a bike.

In fact, I do it to most of my vehicles, I think it looks better, cleaners.

Best case in point, 2000 Windstar van. Removed the rear "Windstar" and "Sport" and it really looked a lot better IMO - but removing the vinyl side stripes completely changed the van, for the better.

Sometimes less is more, and it is even better when a modification can be done for nothing.

One thing I found out was most people can not tell the difference between any of the V-Twin cruisers.

And most people don't even care.
