Too bad the Shocking Blue is only known for 1 big hit in the states. That album is really good.

My Dad used to bring all sorts of exotic seeming vinyl back from trips to Holland in the '70s, and Shocking Blue were always the best (only Inkpot and Attila, I had to get the others on my own later).
You guys are finding some nice records! "Seamonkeys not exactly as shown."

I hit two of my local thrifts a few days ago, one of which I had not been to in a while, and did not find a single cd or lp worth puchasing for ebay or even just myself. I've been lax, however, with checking out the local garage sales this summer and plan to try to hit some this weekend, though I'm sure a lot more families have headed out on summer vacations and there might not be as many. Anyone else having luck?

That Colin Blunstone One Year LP has some nice tunes on it. Three months ago I found The Zombies The Singles Collection: As & Bs 1964-1969, a U.K. cd comp of their 14 singles, all in mono, at a used book/record store.

Zombies were great band.
Last year on Ebay I was able to get their first LP in mono in beautiful condition. I also got an original copy of Odessey and Oracle in excellent condition here in NJ from Princeton Record Exchange

Solid haul!
I was back east for a week and did a bit of damage. I scouted out a couple of fruitful new spots that'll still be good when I go back to visit the folks next time. I grabbed lots of $2 records that'll go in the store, plus a bunch of jazz (Blue Note, Prestige, etc.) stuff I'll probably keep. Plus, I got a stack of soul/psych 45s that'll come in handy for DJ-ing.
I only had a couple of hours to spend at one place, but could've easily done a 6 hour shift.

Found a RARE copy of the Garage Band - "The Playgue" 1965 on Relic - "I Gotta Be Goin" --
It's in very nice shape, and I'm quite excited to find it. The last one I saw listed anywhere sold on Ebay in 2010 for $503 -- not bad for a 25 cent investment

I'll answer your question here, not on the thread you started.
Here's what popsike shows -

I wouldn't list it as an auction. I would list it at as a BIN for $600, accept offers of $500. Either way there's a chance you will leave some money "on the table", but hey, you paid a quarter for it.

Thanks for the answer -- I got so excited it I listed it before I saw the "garage sale" thread -- sorry about that.
Thanks for the info -- I had found the last one, but not the two before it....only 3 auctions is sort of weird -- especially in the ebay world, all within a few months all during one year.
I wonder how many there are around of this 45....
I appreciate the suggestions....
All the best,
Byron/Lisa

Nice finds. After dropping off some mail at the post office I was heading to a thrift the other day, then I remembered I was overdue for an oil change and tire rotation
That sirs 'n' madams is discipline
I might swing by a HPB later today, though, I have one of those 50%-off highest priced item coupons good only today.

i guess the best deal i found is an old rheem key-bass(a keyboard bass) at a habitat for humanity for fifty cents. needed a cord which i found, and the volume control pot replaced, which i did. okayed it through a bass amp and it sounded sweet. the only thing i have to do is sit down with my tuner, and tune it. that is goung to be tedious, but fun. i live for finds like that.

John Mayall-Bare Wires-orig stereo deep groove dark blue label
Frank Zappa-Chungas Revenge-original Bizzare

I never seem to reply to this thread because there are never any yard sales with records around here, and local thrift stores are useless. I get my records from second hand stores at the usual prices. And even then, I can't remember the last time I bought records, because I'm trying to cut down on spending. I might not have bought any so far this year! But today I was in a shop and found 4 low priced albums by Toots Thielemans in the new arrivals bin, all in stereo, including a German Polydor dated 1961 in the fine print. (And great cheesy romantic cover art with guy and girl in embrace, the girl's in bed but the guy is fully dressed, 2 drinks and an ashtray in foreground.) So now I'm happy because I have something to report.

I made a few interesting finds this week, but the best was one I'm keeping for myself. I'm a big Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers fan, and on CD I've long had the early 90s remaster of their self-titled debut from 1976, which was nice at the time because the original CD release had been out of print for awhile. But at long last I found an original 1985 Japan-for-U.S. MCA pressing in a used bin. Needless to say, this made my day avatar: The Small Faces
