about photo fee

hi everybody. i am going to open a e bay store. however, i don't know too much policies about e bay. i have a question. do i need to pay for the photo fee if i display in the store? if i have to pay for it, i want to know the price. thank you very much

Ummm, sorry no one's answered yet!

I don't have a store so I don't know if there's a picture discount or not, I only know that as an auction-runner I never pay for or use the ebay picture hosting. I and most others self-host from another source like Photobucket. Then there's that horribly popular Auctiva-hosting, which I personally despise! ;)

I would suggest doing a LOT of research into opening a store early on, if this is your selling ID. Seems like too many newbies jump into the Store experience way too early & unprepared!

It's really the only exercise I get! :^O

Heh heh! I guess that was my vernacular for someone who runs auctions! I wasn't sure about store-owners, and though I knew some categories came with free pics I wasn't sure which ones!

I was just happy to bump the thread up until someone more useful came along! ;)

I have to agree with James.....Untill you can list about 100 items or more on a consistent basis, I don't think a store is worth having.

As an "auction runner" (another ID), I have to disagree with James about Auctiva. I like using it. Pics upload faster and are free, and scheduling is FREE. I like that since I type slowly and can set up auctions when I have time.

I will advise that no matter what route you go....Learn to crop and resize your pics so they open quickly for those on dial-up. Nothing worse than waiting several minutes to see the item, and to load those pesky fancy templates.

Well I won't go into my anti-Auctiva rant! ;) But, bbm, you just re-inforced what all Auctiva sellers say, all the benefits and convenience of Auctiva only for the seller using it! That's great but it doesn't pay off when people routinely hit the 'back' button upon entering an Auctiva auction! :-p
