Here's a macaw. I dropped out its zoo background in Photoshop CS6 using the Quick Selection tool, then substituted the blue background with spotlight effect.

I know there are prettier things to post here, but this spider has fascinated me for about 5 days now. I first noticed him (her) about 5:30am a few days ago when I went out for the paper. Its web ran from the eave to the top of a bannister. Just after daybreak, I passed that way again and the spider and web were gone. But next morning, there it was again; at daybreak it was gone again. Yesterday, I took this picutre. He's still around and I won't bother him.

well, here's a snowflake i snapped last week with a little Canon compact.
the bokeh were created by spray painting the back side of a microscope slide with metallic blue spray paint.
it was a nighttime shot so it's a bit dark, but pretty little flake, wouldn't you agree?
now i shall scroll backwards and peek and what others have posted.
