Concerned about VeRO? Read this to help!

Oct 25, 2002 7:44 AM
Okay, there's been a lot of misinformation floating around about VeRO and obviously even more questions about it. In an effort to get some of these issues clarified I have requested that Mike Jacobson (eBay's legal counsel) host an eBay Workshop on VeRO.

If you'd like the opportunity to learn more about VeRO and be able to ask direct questions to the folx responsible for the program, then you need to email bo@ebay.com and request a VeRO workshop.

For more information on workshops visit: Link

A simple suit in Federal court will solve your problem. Actually most abusers back down quickly, and even settle out of court.

I just received a message through ebay from "attorneys" representing a product I am selling on eBay. The said they were giving me 48 hours before they reported me to VERO and that I should provide them with photos of the inside of the package, receipts, and total amount of stock for the item I have listed. It is a toy and there are several that are selling on eBay at the moment. It is quite evident in the auction photos that I took the photos myself...of the front and back of the box. I only have the one item, but what business is it of anyone how many I have in stock?
I have not responded to the message yet. I do not feel comfortable sending the info through regular email (and that is the only way I can send attachments with the proof they request).
Any suggestions/ideas?
thanks

jana

Tell them to provide you with a street address and phone number so your attorney can reply with the information they requested.

If you only have the one item, just stall them till it sells.

I recently had an ad for diet pills removed thru the Vero program and I contacted "Nutrition Enforcement" who reported me. I sent them a copy of my invoice to prove that they were not counterfeit. I just can't use them anymore due to health reasons. I have three boxes that are unopened and wanted to sell them. Well....they admitted their mistake to ebay.....ebay then went ahead and put my ad back onto my account under closed auctions. I contacted ebay to ask them if it was fine to re-list the items. ebay wrote me back saying that I had the o.k. to relist the items. So I did.......and got reported again......and now my account is restricted from listing for 7 days!!!! I called ebay to ask them why they would do this to me and they say that their hands are tied and I have to contact Nutrition Enforcement again and they have to let ebay know they made a mistake again. I find this absolutely unacceptable! ebay HAS the original email from them stating they mistakenly reported my ad....but since the new ad has a new listing number (even though I just relisted the original ad) I have to start from scratch defending my name! SO who protects ME from this type of harassment?? It turns out that each time you are reported it is a new legal document that is filed against you and each one has to be rectified. So...if I clear this one up and relist again....I am not protected. Unfair!
