2 Items Shipped, 1 is broken
May 25, 2012 08:44 AM

I sold 2 Avon Vintage Coleman Lanterns to Shop Airlines America, Inc. on May 8.  Both items were packaged by USPS and shipped out.  Today I get an email stating that one of the lantern's top was broken.  They sent a photo but it's not very bright.

The cost of both Lanterns was $9.95 + $5.30 for shipping ($15.25).  The buyer has asked me to cancel the transaction and refund $9.95 to their PayPal account.  I want to do the right thing but it seems like they're going to get the products for free if I do that.

Would you refund the $9.95 or only half of it which is $4.98?  Are they entitled to receive a refund for shipping as well even though one of the items was fine?

I would offer half the money and split the shipping with them since they may not have only purchased one to begin with. If they refuse, offer to refund it in full including original shipping if they return the item.

They are complete scamers. search Shop Airlines America Inc/ebay on line. They have a history of Lost/damaged claims.

They bid on my item and won I will not ship to them. I got had by a simular company "bestbuykg3" $350 and kept the product. For some reason ebay is not following these scams where they buy hundreds of items a day and make claims on a %, its clearly a numbers racket buy hundreds and make claims on a %. I contacted ebay and was told there were six pages of complaints.

Your loss is minimual work it out and leave positive feedback and a comment that lets other know how bad they are.

They have purchased three items from me over the last 6 months.  Always a smooth transaction.  Items were priced from $20 to $80.  I always package well and insure, no problems.

May 8th?

If that's the payment date, I shipped to California, and they re-shipped it overseas (which is what they do), I'd say I was sorry, but couldn't help them.

Tell them to take a hike. This company has at least 25 similar names on Ebay. They bid on thousands of items per week. They bid on behalf of customers in Japan.  They paypal the sellers,  the seller ship to Cal.  The company inspects the items and then forwards the item to it's customers in Japan. You can be sure that this item was broken by them. Otherwise, you would've heard from them in May.

Tell them that they broke the item. NO SELLER on ebay is responsible for items that they receive and then forward.  Tell them to reimburse their customer and to leave you alone.

Unfortunately, you canNOT block them. They have way too many companies.   The names are the same with the exception of the numbers.

What I truly believe that Ebay should do is allow sellers to block these types of customers.  My problem with them is that sometimes, their staff is incompetent or overwhelmed since they buy so many items.  I sold them something earlier this year with one of my ebay names. For 2 weeks, they kept emailing me and asking where was the item. Yet D.C. showed that they had it.    Finally, they found it and posted my feedback.

I would NOT reimburse them anything.  It's too later for feedback.  At least , block this one ID but rest assured, that they will probably bid again.

They do provide a good service for their non-English speaking customers who pay them a premium plus the cost of the actual auction.

I have sold to these fine people about 12 times in the past 2 years. They always pay within 24 hours. I package  well and ship

within 24 hours. I have never had a problem with these people.

I hope to do a lot more business with them. I also wish for more

buyers like them.

Personally, I would NOT provide a full refund. Putting all of the "scam" business aside and giving them the benefit of the doubt... there were two items, one was supposedly damaged, the other was fine. Why should they get a full refund and esentially get a perfectly good item for free? I would ask them to return the "broken" item and then provide a 50% refund once it was returned.

Don't ever just take their "word" for it because it's too easy for people to lie and get free stuff on here these days. Refuse to encourage the bad behavior, especially when they have 6 pages of complaints already.

these guys are an ebay affiliate,( which is why they have 29,000 positive feedbacks and no negatives). Do a google search of "Shop airlines america" and you'll get to read all the negative comments and horror stories there.
