You can't.

If your buyer opens a SNAD case you will be giving them a 100% refund and your restocking fee means nothing.

Really?

Doesnt he have to return the NAD item first??

In that case if listing states 50% restocking fee on all returns he will have to pay just that - no?

Nope, if a buyer opens a SNAD case all they have to pay for is return shipping.

They get their original shipping + item price refunded to them.

The restocking fee means nothing

Just select "no returns accepted".

If it's SNAD No Return means nothing other than your buyer might get a refund and you might not get your item back.

The re-stocking fee comes into play if the item is described correctly and the buyer receives it in the listed condition and just wants to return it. That would be something that would NOT go through Buyer Protection. Some sellers will accept returns simply because the buyer changed their mind. The re-stocking fee is charged to cover the item being out of their inventory for a period of time where they couldn't sell it to someone else (or whatever else they want it to cover).

The buyer would just have to claim SNAD and send item back and get a 100% refund.

Maybe ebay needs to reword their own policy regarding restocking fees.  It currently reads, in part:

You shouldn't charge restocking fees for items returned due to damage, defects, or not-as-described in the listing.

It doesn't say you CAN'T.

Slyter2001 I have a great idea of how to get around this. Why not consider including a special policy within your listings to have the buyer send you an envelope with cash for 50% of the purchase price (after they pay you the full item price + shipping) and then if for some reason they do want a return you can just keep the envelope money?

You can't do that either.

I think eBay limits restock fees to 20%. If a buyer claims SNAD they will get a 100% refund though

I have a room full of items to list on Ebay, but im hindered from listing any of them by this forced 14 day return policy. Most of my items usually are no returns accepted, but I dont want to lose my 20% discount.I listed a few items, and clearlt stated in RED LETTERS at the end of the description and in the return section, that the 14 day return is only if the item received is not the item in the description, and no other reason for returns will be accepted.Since the listing is a legal contract between you and the buyer, the buyer must agree to my terms, or not bid on it.The places I buy from dont except returns, such as estate sales etc.why am i being forced to offer them. This new ebay rule, sounds like something dictators do, such as the mayor of NYC making it a law that you cant buy a sugar drink bigger than 16 ounces.

Unfortunately the red lettering on your listing is not going to do you much good. All the buyer has to do is claim SNAD and they will get a refund once the item is shipped back to you.

The buyer doesn't even have to prove that it's SNAD.

That's correct.

SNAD is the ultimate sellers killer.
