Return Shipping
Jun 18, 2012 06:28 AM

I am the buyer and I received a package recently.  The items (21 peices)  in the sellers listing look to be clean and it good condition.

I open the box and it was a nightmare.  I have no use for them now and are useless.

The seller told he packed them well and such and says to ship them back for refund.  It will be expensive for me to send these.  His policy in the listing was that buyer pays return shipping.  In this case though why should I have to pay shipping back.  I believe if the items would have be packed better then we wouldn't have this problem.  Can I avoid paying for return shipping.  I asked for a return label but the seller keeps avoiding it and just says "we have a great return policy, just send the items back".  I don't mind sending if either I get a return label or I am guaranteed reimbursement.

Thought???  Are these return shipping policy's etched in stone no matter who, what, where?

This is from eBay policies:

Buyers are required to pay return shipping, except for rare situations when a buyer and seller agree to another arrangement or eBay agrees to pay the shipping.

read the policies before useing a site.

know your risks , know how to reduce them.

I am aware of the policies.  Sometimes there are special circumstances that the policy isn't explicit about or doesn't cover at all.

Tell me just how you can reduce the risk of a package coming in with no protective packaging.  There were no signs leading me to believe that could happen.

You post is as useless as the items I received.

Wow...that's a mess.  Did the seller have insurance on it?

Yeah that open box is exactly how it looked when I opened it.  I didn't remove any packing material.  It had all that empty space there  It was sent via USPS.  I don't know if he added insurance.  I don't see anything that mentions insurance.  Even then I doubt the seller could win an insurance claim with due to how it was packed in the box.

This one might actually be worth a call to ebay explaining the situation and providing them the pictures.  I can't even imagine how you would repackage that without getting toner all over everything.  Toner is so nasty!

I am not normally an advocate of a buyer having to issue a refund without having their product back, but in this case, I would condone it.

We are a toner remanufacturer but we were too resell these.  Problem is that these cartridges are so badly scratched up, even the one that are not broken we can use.  They just look aweful.  No one will rebuild these and sell to an end user.  Looks like someone placed these under a grinder.  I cleaned all the toner off of them with compressed air so I could see what condition they were in.  I sent the seller a link to the pictures early this morning.  If he wants them back then I will stand firm that he pays to get them back.  The seller has great feedback and seems reputable. So I will wait to see what his next response is.  I shouldnt have to pay $30 to $40 to ship them back.  If so then I will let ebay decide the outcome.

I had to open a case and show ebay the pictures and gave them all the info and they just gave me a refund.  Don't have to send the items back.  If will send them back to the seller if they give me a prepaid shipping label.

You came here for advice.  No need to be rude because you didn't like what one post said.

If they packed them poorly and didn't respond to your complaint, then let the Ebay community know that this seller doesn't pack well and when he screws up an order, he doesn't take responsibility.

Had they responded promptly and refunded fully,  I would give them a nice feedback... Hopefully, they will not let another bidder go what you went through.
