I recently purchased a used Gypsy on eBay that came loaded with about 30 cartridges. I thought I got a good deal - $299 for a unit that usually costs $200 plus about $300 worth of cartridges. Unfortunately PC has placed limits on the Gypsy that prevent the unit from being resold, with or without digital content. The purchaser of the original unit is bound by the EULA to not resell the unit. PC prevents any one except the original purchaser from loading new cartridges to the unit or from syncing it up with a new Cricut Craft Room account. Sure, I can use the thing to design and cut using my Expression or my Imagine machines, but only using the images the original owner loaded on the unit. I cannot add any of my cartridges. This is not how I intended to use the unit when I purchased it. I even asked the seller to confirm that I could sync it with my CCR account and with my cartridges and she assured me that PC told her I could.
There are a number of auctions running all the time for used Gypsy units, some with cartirdges and some without. eBay needs to remove these auctions so that others dont have the horrible experience I have just had.
