Fort Hood: News Flash… why he did it.

Nov 6, 2009 4:24 AM
One of the headlines I ran across this morning read:

12 slain as Army asks why

I sent the Army an email explaining exactly why he did it, and thought I’d try to explain to all TSers who are still capable of thought. And, the answer is: HE DID IT BECAUSE HE WAS INSANE!

Let me say that one more time with conviction: THE MAN WAS INSANE (there is NO other possible explanation). His name, religion, place of birth, national origin are of NO more importance/significance than what the man ate for breakfast (they don’t change the fact that he was INSANE)!

There have always been INSANE people in this world. And, there always will be! As I’ve stated (over and over), there are insane people in all walks of life, in all professions, and in every country (even a few on these boards;)).

The army can study it all they want. Congress can politicize it all they want. And, we all know the press will run with this story (any story) 24 hours a day until something else comes along. But, the facts remain: a. the man was insane; b. there will always be insane people in this world!

the whole world is insane, your just indicating the possibility to use that as an excuse to avoid the death Penalty :)

Mabey he was testing a new military checmical agent that would turn the average mentally abused and disheartened person into a unique and effective fighting force of an army of One.

But they need to answer the question of whether he was an insane person acting entirely on his own or whether he had some little friend on the internet who wasn't insane but was perhaps evil helping him chart a course.

My suspicion is that you are right, and that it was one lone insane person, but they do have to look a bit further.

I’m not much interested in what caused a person to become insane. I.e., I don’t see where it matters whether his parent’s locked him in a closet, when he was young, whether it’s of a physical nature (being dropped on his head when he was a baby), or whether it was chemically induced (legally, or illegally).

Nor am I interested in legal mumbo double talk. You try to kill more than 40 people, unless you are insane! In a just world, whether you murder someone for fun/excitement/thrills, for money, or because you are insane, shouldn’t matter…I believe in equal punishment for equal crime (the reasoning doesn’t matter).

HE DID IT BECAUSE HE WAS INSANE!

If he did it because of his religion then that makes all members of that religion, whatever it is , insane.

that didnt make a lot of sence, when Mrs. Church lady drivers herself and 2 kids into the lake and says "god" told her to do it, it doesnt make the rest of the church members insane. or does it?

Although I’ve explained “why” this man committed this crime (because he’s insane), I’m not sure how the government propaganda machine will spin it. Do you think they’ll end up calling it some kind of Jihad (in order to escalate the war for oil)? Or, do you think they’ll use it to justify some, new idiotic gun control legislation?

I mean, the white house chief of staff stated long ago that it’s a shame to waste a crisis.

To my way of thinking, he was just another crazy Muslim on a one man crusade.

I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

it was on a military base, they will want to cover it up, clean it up, and get it out of the way as quickly as possible, NORMALLY.
But as we all know that aint gonna happen, so it would be onto step 2, whatever that is (never seen what they do when step one doesnt work).
probably go with the deeply disturbed angle and releace many "points of suicide" to show that it was just one of the other 10 suicides that happened on that base.
toss in a few was out of his mind on drugs or alcohol, then add in some Projected PSTD as unloaded on the psyc from other personell.

that should sufficentally sweep it under the rug, and make it dissapear from the annuls of history.

The big question is, is there any connection to this crime?

so your saying that drunk drivers should still get vehicular manslaughter charges when they kill people with thier 2 ton killing machines, EVEN if they werent of thier right mind at the moment.

I could go for that, assuming the driver wasn't forcibly held down while alcohol was poured down his throat...which isn't exactly a common occurence....

I ignored that statement the first time, but now I'm confused.

As far as I know, if a drunk driver kills someone, the generally ARE charged with vehicular homicide.

Again, if I was writing and enforcing the laws, I would treat driver on cell phones, drivers fixing their hair, putting on lipstick, driving without required prescription glasses, or those impaired by legally prescribed drugs, all the same (the world according to laerley ;)).
