Had my reassessment guru stop by.
An RA guru is the one to call when you are considering a loan which involves your house.
They'll stop by and give you a heads-up on what the real assessment folks are looking for,
whether their job is to make your place look better for a more favorable quote,
or if the loan company is perfectly happy taking your $$ at your current interest rate.
(and will go to great lengths to keep it that way)
Then one can address beforehand the particular issues
that may keep you from getting what you want.
Here's one I didn't know.
I have several areas around the exterior where windows were entirely removed,
and the rough openings filled with marine plywood.
He said nope: an agenda-driven reassessor could say
that the window was simply boarded up, and downrate you.
Impossible you might cry: Nobody could be THAT unethical.
But it happened to us a few years ago,
when the loan company assessment stooge came in
with orders to downrate anything possible.
So now I'm climbing around on *more* scaffolding,
and removing the plywood, redoing the V-barrier and insulation,
and replacing the plywood with clapboard like that which is on the rest of the house.
I tried being reasonable, I didn't like it..........

It'll look a lot better from the outside, anyway, but what a pain.
Had to go look up "clapboard."
Clapboard siding is a type of siding made from wedge-shaped boards which are designed to overlap with each other. The individual boards used in clapboard siding are known as clapboards; clapboard siding may also be referred to as bevel, lap, or weatherboard siding in various regions of the world. Many people find clapboard siding aesthetically pleasing, and it is associated especially with frame homes built in the American region of New England

Hi Shirls,
you'd think I would have an answer since I'm in your face now? But I have no clue how much tacos cost, haven't had one in forever either. Just wanted to say Hi. It doesn't hurt to be optimistic. You can always cry later. ~Lucimar Santos de Lima

Morning, {{{DPs}}} Beautiful day here! Love leaving the windows open at night and even needing a light blanket! Hope we stay at our "normal" temperatures for a few weeks.
Don't know how the southerners manage it with the 3H weather all summer. A week of it was brutal.
Meeting my boss for lunch before work this afternoon. I have a bad feeling this means more hours, and I'm really used to working two or three days a week now.
I guess she doesn't want to train someone new now that she's getting close to retirement age, too.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
