Is it legal to ship to NIGERIA??? I do not know but I would be very, very careful before doing this transaction.

What do they want to buy from you????

personally after shipping to brazil and getting scammed big time i wouldnt ship out of us. once packages leave the us there is no way to track them. they can keep your items and say they never got them and demand refunds and get them. but it is up to u on what you want to do.

I personally would never sell out of the US. My mom has had too many problems with customs and things like that to even make it worth the money you got for the item, assuming that you DO get it and it's not fraudulent.

If you do consider it, do so very carefully.

Nigerias economy seems to be based on scamming Americans. If you want to contribute to their economy, be my guest.

I just had a user try to SCAM me into shipping my item to Nigeria.

The user who won my auction is crolisa001iou, had a rating of 0 (no buys, no sells) and the account was created the same day as the auction was ending. The user info said she was from California, but after winning my auction sent me an email saying she would pay $200 on a $66 auction for shipping to her pastors son in Nigeria, and to expect a paypal confirmation email on the money.

Everything was a red flag in my head, especially the poor English in the e-mail, and I know for sure when i received a spoofed(fake) email from paypal saying the money was transacted. The spoofed email from paypal had a reply address of financierdetails@mail2pal.com, other than that everything else looked legit.

DONT EVER send anything to Nigeria, after doing some research I found that they run SCAMS all over the internet to STEAL items and NOT PAY.

I am still waiting to hear back from E-bay to instruct me what to do next.

pianomo with as many feedbacks as you have you have to ask? Dude(?) anything with nigeria or complicated payment repayment requests is a scam. you will be left holding a bad check after shipping or wiring money somewhere.

Personally I will ship to the moon if a customer sends me the payment.
Yes you can ship to Nigeria.
Don't be so paranoid. As long as you have their money in your hands you are in control.

I think we all understand that nobody in Nigeria wants to give us a million dollars to help them escape, That's the scam

You use Paypal, Charge express shipping and offer exchange only no cash refunds buyer pays shipping.
If they return an empty package you use their money to reship them another empty package.

Over all I have sold internationally for years and have never had a scam issue.
Just cover your bases and don't be afraid to ship globally.

If you deposit a perfectly normal looking "cashiers check" , the bank teller processes it and the bank finds out its worthless 3 weeks from deposit: I have read: they come after the depositor for the funds, you are left owing the bank for the check and your item is gone (shipped). But I Could be wrong,I'm not a bank employee...

To know if it is legal and how much the costs might be, see the USPS web site.

Some sellers list up front the countries from which they will not accept bids.

Some sellers list the countries to which they will ship only via registered and tracked mail (usually: India, China, the Far East, sometimes even Italy). Indian sellers seem to ship only via registered mail, no matter where, to protect their packages inside their own country I believe.

I would ask to be paid only via Paypal. After receiving the payment notification, I would check with my bank and not ship any item before the bank would confirm the deposit.

To dubious countries I would ship only registered mail with tracking (and maybe ask for postal insurance).

Peace of mind might not be worth the trouble of making a few bucks and be worried to death or be hassled later on .

Personally I would prefer not to deal with Nigeria in any way (buying or selling), shape or form. You never know what new scam might hide behind an apparently safe transaction. That is the price a country pays for condoning corruption as a way of life.

In all my years of reading the boards, this has to be the worst advice I've seen. Please tell me you were kidding. No one could be that clueless about how these scams work.
