"As for other auction sites, they will not do well, rember YAHOO auctions, it failed in the US. Can you guess why or do I need to tell you?" and
"Items listed on yahoo did not sell. Why you ask? Because there was no paypal or equivalent integration." Well, one thing is crystal clear... you never sold anything on Yahoo auctions before they retired (yes, that's right "retired", not "failed", after striking a deal with greedbay)... the reason I know you never sold on Yahoo auctions, is because I did, and had paypal (yuck) as a payment option in every ad.
Yahoo still has "Yahoo Shopping"... those are the ads you see plastered all over ebay in direct competition with ebay sellers' ads, the same ones that are posted on every ebay search results page now, just like buyernator said "It's much more profitable to let the sellers drive traffic to the click banners with the items they're selling. People click on the banners, and e Bay gets paid for the click , and Yahoo gets paid for the lead." Plus Yahoo makes a sale and the ebay seller gets screwed out of one.... do you see the money trail connection here?
(not that it matters, most ebay items don't even show in the fabulous "best match" search, so sadly ebay is just stealing the seller's listing fees from them)
I believe (even though I try to stay away from paypal as much as possible) that when you select what/where you're billing a customer for/from, Yahoo is even still an option... don't quote me on that though, as it may have changed by now and as I mentioned I try not to frequent anything that is "ebay" these days.
I did leave, as far as selling on this site, but will never stop helping others to make the best move of their lives too
Thousands, upon thousands of sellers have left ebay and they (the ebay execs)
do feel it, otherwise they wouldn't be filing suit against little old craigslist, whining like the bratty, selfish children that they are, just because CL kicks their disrespective buttskis in the classified sector of the internet... they're not happy with their 28%, they want it
ALL!!!
Typical and pretty much predictable for the gluttonous, greedy monsters.
I hope Craig and Jim mop the latrine floor with them.
Hi something4all and buyernator!
My 2 cents for the week... have a great one all!
