Why did Ebay remove the blog feature?

I think it is unfortunate that Ebay had did not have enough foresight to keep the Ebay blogs intact. For those of you who did now know the Ebay Blogs was eliminated on 10/31. Sellers used this format to create interactive communication about items that they were selling and asked questions about Ebay policies.
Social networking is a new trend and has proved successful with facebook , twitter and other sites. Ebay had their foot in the door but they chose to remove this feature, why?
Ebay has also removed the Ebay Live help feature and now it is very difficult to obtain any assistance about problems on this site.
Removing social networking and limiting access to customer service is not the way to go if Ebay is going to continue to be successful.
Meg Whitman - former CEO would not have approved of these changes.

It seems ebay is shutting down shop. They are handicapping its sellers. Ebay also has recently done away with featured items. As featured items were published in the major serch engines, the traffic to ebay from these sites was virtually eliminated.

I found that I got a lot of hits on my ebay listings whenever I did a blog post and now all of my blog fans are gone with the removal of ebay blogs, think my sales are abou to suffer...

Since they eradicated mine along with everyone elses on Oct 31st I decided to open one at Blogger...I think really like this one better as it allows you to do so much more with the widgets and applications including a talking avatar!
