I just got sued for $1,500 + court costs, for leaving a negative feedback!!

You won’t believe this, but I just got sued for $1,500 + court costs, for leaving a negative for a bad seller, and he’s in IL and I’m in CA, and I have no idea what to do.

I called eBay, but they said it’s his right and they're not willing to do ANYTHING about this.

CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME ?!?!?!?!?!

Easy - what's the jurisdiction of the court it's filed in?
Unless it's Federal Court, he can pound sand.
And followup question - have you been served? Who served the summons? Mailed to you?
Lots of questions - my main question, though, is sued you for what exactly?

They can't render a verdict without the court notifing you first. If they did, it may be a fake.

I can't afford a lawyer. I'm out of a job!

Sued for deformation of character, hurt his business, turn away customers, etc...

It was mailed to me. Filed in IL court. He claims juristiction in IL since that's where he lives and where the items were sent from.

It was only a $4.99 item... :(

Please believe me. I wouldn't make such a thing up! I can scan and email anyone the docs that I got. I'm so frustrated, mad and really don't know what to do.

YOu have to go to IL to appear in court?

You better tell us what happened. Only than might someone be about to offer some help. But be prepared. There is brutal honesty in here. You might not like the answers you get.
