Greetings, Thank you all for the great posting on the Toys board and please keep them coming! While many people on this board are familiar to each other by user names or first names, I thought it might be nice if we each took a moment to introduce ourselves. I will start - please respond with a little about your self as well. My name is Aashish (it's an old Hindi word literally meaning "blessing", my parents probably re-thought that name in my teen years ), and I am one of the Category Managers in the Toys group. I oversee the Action Figures, Trading Card Games and Games Categories. I have a large collection of Simpson's action figures as well as GI Joe's (which sadly are not in the best shape anymore!). Currently I am searching for a large scale model Homer doll, please send all leads my way! I am originally from the East Coast (Maryland - GO TERPS!), but have been living in the SF Bay Area for the last 7 years. In my free time I am usually playing or watching sports, reading, or exploring the Bay Area. Hope to hear from all! -Aashish Toys & Hobbies Category Manager

Since this is an introduction board....my name is John, a long-time collector and seller of toys as well as other antiques, primarily 1970s action figures such as Micronauts and other Mego figures. I also dabble in book writing from time to time and recently put my 14 years of selling knowledge in a book that I wrote, with a major emphasis on 1960s-80s action figures in the later chapters, in an electronic format. It's nice to meet all of you!

Hi my name is Roger. I am a model train enthusiast. I've had o27 gauge for over 55 yrs and just started in nov of 2010 on n scale trains. I am a buyer and have an excellent rating for payment. evenutally I would like to sell on Ebay as this would be a way to make some coffee money and keep me out of my better 1/2's hair and not underfoot. I look forward to meeting some experts on model trains here and chat. thank you and a very Merry CHRISTmas to all all.

My name is Pat. I sold on eBay for over 10 years, up till 2007 I got a little burnt out on scrambling all the packages out the door. I left with 100% feedback as a seller.
I am fansinated with toy history, trying to understand why one toys sells for $1000 and another you think is cool but can''t get $2 for. I am drawn towards tv & movie character toys. The most valuable toys are the ones with the best memories

Hi, I'm Adrienne...obviously. I'm fairly new to selling on Ebay, and am trying out different forums to see what I may want to try selling after I've finished the stuff from my childhood that's in mom's attic. "Let no man pull you low enough to hate him." Martin Luther King

Hi,
I am johnsonho from Malaysia. I have been selling on ebay since April 2011. So far I have 101 postive feedbacks except 1 negative. At th outset I sold 1/6 action figures accessories which involved a lot of work like taking photos from different angles, writing capturing descriptions and so forth. over time I try to sell different kinds of items.Currently I sell old coins and hot wheels toy cars. From my personal experience i find that to know what to sell it is essential to do some marketing research as to what people are looking for in ebay. Perhaps you can check it out ay Ebay Pulse.. I highly recommend you to get this for quicker success on ebay.Check it out at http://tinyurl.com/8yaaros,

Hey everyone, I'm Matt from NJ. I've been a toy collector ever since I can remember. My first purchase on eBay (on my old account) was in 2000 and was for a set of action figures that came out in 1990 that I had tried unsuccessfully to find only a year later or so (crazy pre-ebay days huh!?? haha)
I had called stores, written letters, even had family members look in stores on vacation - all to no avail. The second I joined eBay my first search was for these figures and within a week I had them all complete with their accessories all for under $30. I was amazed, baffled, and hooked! I mostly collect late 70's to early 90's toys.
I am truly fascinated with the idea of antiques and toys surviving all these years and making their way back to someone who had been searching for so long.
Hope to talk to more people on here!

Hello everyone,
My name is Joshua. My wife Brandy and I started an Ebay store back in December and are having really good success with it. We have been unemployed since February of last year and were using Flea Markets to stay up on bills(not very well mind you) and to be able to afford our needs. Business has exploded for us since we've opened the store, and our ned of sales at the flea market has been minimized(but we still do it because we love bartering).
We buy and sell on Ebay, mostly selling and we are constantly picking at thrift stores, yard sales, and flea markets.
We specialize in toy sales and have some pretty good knowledge. We are very open to sharing tips and information and look forward to great discussions on items and ideas here on the forum!
God bless and thank you,
Joshua and Brandy

Apparently I have to reintroduce myself as my old posts under 1281965 are no-longer linked to me?? but to someone in Germany...
I'm Robin and I'm in Wisconsin. I've been buying/selling on ebay for almost 11 years. I collect dolls barbies & plushies. I have dolls in every room of the house lol! I used to love nothing more then the challenge of restoring a baby back to being loved again. and it didn't matter if they were 1 year old or 50 years old. I find I have less and less time for this. DH says move some out! so I am forever rotating my collection here on ebay. one leaves & 2 come back in hehehe
I've lurked fairly often on this board for a few years and since I'm a bit toy challenged, I don't post unless I can help or need help lol! this is a wonderful board!

Hi, I'm Jessie. I've been collecting teddy bears for a long time, but have been more serious about it in the last two years or so. I've also started collecting dolls and "tape talkers", the toys of the 80s and 90s that play tapes to tell stories. I'm kind of obsessed with 80s toys in general, but mainly the talkers. I'm not really into action figures, not sure why. I like toys that have been played with and I'm mainly into older ones. I'm not necessarily looking for antique, although if I found one I would be excited, but I like toys that no one is playing with anymore. I get really depressed when I see or hear about a toy that is mint in the box because he has never been loved. I just want to rescue him from that box and play with him.

Hello, My name is Dave (ID is dbowles53) I live in the Midwestern United States and I am an avid die cast car collector. I collect mostly 1:18 scale but I do have other scales in my collection.
I run an E-Bay store that sells mostly resin figure and accessories for dioramas and model train lay-outs.
I got into this a couple of years ago as a way to stay active in my hobby and hopefully make a little money (so that I can buy more die cast cars for my collection) So far I have been doing well enough to keep on keeping on. Not a lot of profit, but I have fun doing it.
So stop by my store or drop me a line. I do not always answer right away, but I do answer!
Dave

Hello all,
I have been selling on ebay for the past few years on and off, but I am really pushing it now to basically free up space. I am selling my old collection of toys from the 1980s-1990s that I grew up with, Transformers classic and re-issue, Power Rangers, G.I. Joe, X-Men, Micro Machines, Batman, Star Trek, and miscellaneous. I can't believe how much stuff I've accumulated, but I'm just not the collector I used to be. Still, it's fun to be out here, and I'll continue to do it until I run out =)
