Buy enough items from different sellers to get the positive feedbacks to get you to 100. As a buyer you are guaranteed a positive if you aren't rude or act suspicious to the seller. If one fails to leave you positive remind them nicely to do so. eBay has done a good job of weeding out many of the problem sellers on here since Down-a-hole took over so the majority are willing to work with you for the positive feedback and 5 stars in all categories.
Look for .99 free shipping items, eBay is loaded with them. Look for items you can snap up at that price to turn around and sell or that will save you money on things you can use personally. MANY newbie sellers don't know the ropes yet and list for .99 at auction expecting it to go much higher. I've bought lots of dishes or other items I need for my other business at .99 and free shipping, used what I could and listed the remaining pieces here and made very nice profits in the other business and here reselling it.
It will take you some time using the search features but you can narrow down search to help save you time. Also you will learn A LOT about both buying bargains here for resale, what sells and what to leave alone.
As for your comments, I thought about offering to sell items for my family and friends but I wanted to wait until I have some "credentials" behind my name. Don't wait, you do not have to be a registered TA to sell for others. Just make sure you are following all state and local taxing regulations, have a good contract signed by the person you are selling for so you are covered in case "UH-OH" happens...and it does from time to time so CYA before you even get started.
I am not too concerned about making a huge profit...I will focus on that once I become a TA. NO, your time right now being so new to this is still valuable. It gets more valuable as your skill builds and knowledge grows. Don't start out cheating yourself. Those you list for with that attitude in the beginning will expect you to always work cheap for them. Take pride in what you do and expect good things to come from your hard work. NEVER undervalue your service. If they don't want to pay you let them do the work themselves.
May God bless your new endeavour clothesandmore, I wish you the best at this. It's good money, some headaches with all the eBay changes plus dealing with consignors but still a nice way to bring in extra income on the side.
