Scam or legit?
Jun 11, 2012 02:44 PM

I joined the TA program a few months ago and while I've met some great people, most of the items I've been requested to sell are around $30 (and there's only one item to sell.)

So, I was excited to get a larger request, but now I think it's a scam- opinions?

--------------------------

These are the items ,i want you to help me sell, they are for my charity home and some of the items will be coming to you from our donators, they are all new, sealed,we want you to help us sell them for our immediate needs.what is your percentage?

Eastern Tools and Equipment IN3500I Portable Generator 3000 Watt

Eastern Tools and Equipment IN2500I 2200 Watt Portable Generator

42-Inch Gyro Wet Indoor/Outdoor Oil Rubbed Bronze Ceiling Fan

Breville BES860XL - Programmable Espresso Machine

Casablanca C45G45B Stealth DC 54" Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan

Rancilio Silvia V3 Espresso Machine

--------------------------

I really don't want to get mixed up into something that fell off a truck or was billed to some unknowing individual. It sounds fishy to me (and the customer wouldn't reply to my first email questioning if they were local when I noted they had a Boston phone number- I still have a PA one from our brief stint up there, so I know it's not uncommon, but not addressing it concerns me...)

Gut says to walk away- but wanted to see if anyone else has ran into this... :)

Run away from this.  It sounds like a scam to me.  Anything that sounds too good to be true probably isn't.  I know you can't make any money selling for less than $50 items but I do not trust emails like that.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm usually pretty good at spotting scams, but being new to the TA thing, I wasn't sure if this was that unusual or not.
