Online selling is one thing, face to face is another. When I compare the two, the time element is the biggest difference, and hand in hand with that is the audience it's put in front of. At the end of the day, one can fetch more money (online) but it comes with a different set of baggage than face to face (time and effort). I've decided with the massive load of estate baubles I have to host a small private viewing to purchase locally. I'm in the very early stages of planning that. I have to vet the attendees and sketch out the program and event for it. No big deal there. After this one, I'm going to concentrate on a doll event. I can comfortably guess that the b/m has an inventory of two thousand of those to move as well. Have any of you designed local selling programs around themes of merchandise like this? Any pointers? There is a big range of productions from renting halls at two hundred bucks an hour with a band and expensive advertising to just gleaning an in store customer list for a small party. Expense budget allows me to be creative at zero dollars of course for this first one. Just looking for experiences with events, how they've gone for you. I'd like to hear the bad first, and then the good - in that order. I'm a cautious type you know..lol.
