Does Ebay Allow The Selling Of "Burned/Copied" Games Now??
Jul 8, 2012 09:13 AM

I ask because I saw this PC game up for sale and it's an obvious fake (copied) CD/DVD that someone burned at home. I mentioned it to another ebayer and I guess they reported it, this was about 10 days ago. I see it's still up there for sale at an extremely high price and that Ebay has permitted this person to sell copies of this copywrite protected game, so, are ebay sellers now allowed to sell copywrite protected games like this? It looks to me like they are, judging from Ebay allowing this to still be offered even after they were notified. I'm just looking for clarification. (is this what they call "pirated" software? I'm not sure)

1 person reporting an item isnt going to get it removed.

until they've had a vero issue or multiple claims opened against them for this it will stay,

afterall that would be effecting fleabays bottom line if they removed all questionable listings...stockholders cant have that!

No.

Copied/Backups/Pirated Software are NOT allowed on eBay.

However, these listings may or may not be removed, sometimes it takes a few hours to a several days to pull a listing, but once these listings are pulled, I am sure the seller is red flagged.

I did purchase a discount software with a "downloadable" link and found what I purchased was a "cracked" software in a zip file, I got the "exe filed, the nfo, keygen, txt files about the "team" who cracked this software and various torrent download sites. I filed for a refund, got it and also reported the listing but I am unsure if the seller has been pulled.

No, its not allowed but I would simply report these listings. Theres not much to do after that, its in eBays compliance hands
