Selling to buyers with 0 star ratings

A friend of mine and myself both just sold "seller refub'd" xbox 360 consoles successfully on ebay. It's been just about a week however and both of us have not been paid yet. Both our buyers have a 0 rating and appear to be brand new ebayers. I haven't sold a lot of things on ebay so this is my first encounter with someone not paying at least within the first 3 days of purchase. Does anyone here think they will pay or have a similar story?

if they haven't paid by now they wont 99.99% of the time.

chances are a competitor with same item ran up bidding on yours to draw attention to theirs or some kid bid on it.

file unpaid item case and dont relist til case is closed 4 days later .

better luck next time.

Oh jeeze, what a bummer. I am going to give them a few more days just to be sure, but that isn't the news I was hoping for. Thank you for your info.

Coming in as a Canadian buyer of Xbox 360 games ...

I have had all good experiences as a buyer. With the ease and speed of using PayPal (I think all eBayers need to use this), there is no reasonable reason for delay in payment, unless the service is temporarily down.

Hang in there, and best of luck!

Well, I have gone ahead and opened an unpaid item case. It's been 2 days. I finally sent another piece of correspondence to the buyer. They replied that they are 11 years old and have to wait to get the funds from their parent in order to pay me. I only accept pay pal so I am not quite sure how an 11 year old got a pay pal account to make this purchase, unless its their parents. In any case, is there some sort of age limit to being an "ebayer" or could this actually be legit?

Thanks again for everyone's input so far.

Once you open a UID you should not contact the buyer unless you are responding to communication from them. You really don't want to get paid anymore you just want to get your fees back so you can relist. Close the case after 4 days and put the buyer on your blocked bidder list.

You are supposed to be 18 to use ebay. If the buyer makes trouble you can report them for that.

Well, I successfully closed the case and re-listed my item. Today, I got another bid on it......BY ANOTHER '0' rating ebay user! This has got me worried. The listing has not ended as of yet, but I fear this going to end much like my last transaction did.

try to stay positive.. just remember, everyone started at 0.

you could always contact and cancel bid if you dont get a response.

You could set your account to block bidders without a paypal account. That might cut down non payers since any clown can open an ebay account with just an email address but you actually have to put in some finantial info to get a PP account.

In certain categories there are old people who like to pay with check or money order but no one is likely to want that in video games.

I started the listing using the buyer restriction of not allowing people without a paypal account to bid. I guess I can take some solace in that fact then. If they don't have a paypal account, they can't bid, so maybe they aren't out to screw me over. I can only hope for now. Only a few days left and I'll find out for sure.

Rather then checking that they buyer has "0" feedback you should look to see when the buyer has made their account.

I have dealt with my fair share of 0 feedback buyers and there is nothing wrong with that as long as they pay ... every buyer has to start somewhere.

Wow that sucks ... kids should stay they hell away from ebay and parents should protect their accounts more.

Oh you should block the buyers who you have opened cases against to avoid them buying from you again!

It's all pretty much luck of the draw, but you can't just rely on the date the account was created either. Like I just made my account today just to buy a single game.
