I agree with what seems to be the consensus: there is definitely something fishy about this company! I received a Bernoulli watch as a gift, but it didn't work, so I sent it to the company to be repaired. After not hear from them for three months, I finally called the repair center to check the status of the watch. They told me they were not able to fix it (not sure why it took them three months to determine that) but that they have a list of sub offers that they would offer as a replacement. I selected one, which they sent me about a week later. Initially it worked fine, but after about a week it stopped keeping time. I again sent it in for repairs, only to find out that they were planning on charging me for the repair! I said that was fine and asked them to contact me when the repair was finished. After two months, I called to check the status. Again, the watch was "irreparable," but they sent me another list of substitutes, this time offering some of their other brands of watches, including Romilly and Rousseau. I chose one of those, which I received yesterday, and it does not keep time! I am currently in negotiations to find a substitute.

After dealing this much with inadequate customer service, I can guarantee this is not a legitimate company. However, all this aside, the watches are very nice-looking and do APPEAR to be well crafted. I will see where watch #4 gets me...if anywhere!

You are a lot more patient than most people. I'd have been fueling up that old WWII Okinawa flame thrower by now, to go round and see them.

You are exactly RIGHTT!!! ....I bought a bernoulli watch like a year ago. I ended up paying a little for it but when I visited the website I knew it wasnt the real thing. It is physically impossible to sell something that retails for $2500 for under $200. I already knew it was a fake and anyone that doesn't is an idiot.

On the plus side, when I got it in the mail it was very nice.. it wasn't light, it had weight to it, real leather, nice finish and glass. I followed the instructions on it on how to wind it and ended up ooverwinding it in the first couple of weeks. I contacted the seller and returned the watch to get it fix... 4 months later i got it back working and now i know not to wind it more than 7 times once it stops.

Anyway Ive had it for almost 2 years now its still in great shape, still glossy and shiny and sticks out. I always get great comments and appreciation when i wear it to gatherings or parties! ...Bottom line I dont care if the company doesnt exist, or if its a fake, or if its made in china or mars, when i wear it to a function all i get is heads turning telling me woww that must be expensive.

So you guys keep doin yur FBI research while I get all the applause and all the girls when I walk around with the timepiece..

keep in mind that bernoulli watches DO NOT use batteries so they are wound with your arm movement when you walk. When you first get it you have to initially wind it 7 turns to start it up and then move it and it should start. If you have it lying around for a couple of days, the winding stops and you will have to wind it another 7 turns and move the watch to start it back up. Its almost like those toys where you wind up the monkey and it moves and jumps but when the wind runs out sooner or later ....this technology was used in all watches before batteries were invented. This requires master craftmenship so if you are buying a fake watch there are always chances that it may or may not wind properly despite your efforts to follow instructions or care ....i hope that information helps

I think most of you are a bit unfair - Bernoulli watches look nice, rather good construction and satisfactory movement for the price you pay (ca 100 bucks at most). They are reliable, I have had 4-5 models and they have never let me down. MSRP, origin etc. who cares! If you want brands then you should pay 4000-5000 bucks not 40-50 dollars. I actually like these brands and nothing wrong to have them around. They are certainly better then having replicas everywhere plus the appearance of the *new brands* has forced the Swiss watch industry to push some prices down and to create lines of affordable brand name watches. BTW, a wonderful brand is being produced now by Samsung Watch Company - Haas & Cie, an old Swiss master brand Hass Vitesse that died out. Though only in quartz construction the watches are great and I have tried a number of models - plus they are a nice legacy to my family watchmakers company :) Keep smiling guys and don't spend too much time over Bernoulli. They are worthe the little money you pay for. Cheers,.:-D

:^O you really believe the BS you're telling ? I mean about that Haas ?
made-up crap with a made-up history.
the sign they use, the running hare, is stolen from a company named Phillip Haas & Söhne, St. Georgen, Germany, that existed from 1867 to 1920. the rest is photoshop.

Bernoulli watches (some) are pretty good looking - and if they sell them as that; a fashionable, mechanical watches with inexpensive Asian movement then that's fine. There are markets for inexpensive fashionable watches for under $150.

The problem lies in their over-hyping, misrepresentation of how much their watch is actually worth - it's a marketing scam with their pretend retail and selling scheme of making the buyers think they're getting a great deal.

If you like the watch, then go ahead, purchase one

Personally I couldnt support them based on their misreprentation of their item (and history)

Re: Bernoulli watch

didnt really want to add this because I dont want people to take it the wrong way, but it may help -

when you buy/wear a Bernoulli, unless you hang out with people who are quite clueless - then you may carry the stigma of being had by a Chinese watch company selling inexpensive watches pretending it to be thousands of dollars.

personally I wouldnt judge a person and will give the wearer the benefit of the doubt that he/she knows the Bernoulli is not worth that much (though it may look it)

and about inflated price, yes even the big name watch companies tend to inflate their price, but they have good reasons and back that up with their history and workmanship

This particular watch needs a jump start. Unscrew the crown, once unscrewed do not pull to the first position. Leave it at the unscrewed position and turn crown clockwise 35-40 times to get the movement going. It's a mechanical automatic. I have the Infinity Model #11814. Had the same problem until someone gave me this information. Alot of the Stuhrlings are the same way.

I have owned one of these watches for several years. It looks great runs great and has never given me a problem. I know the MSRP is advertising bull. But the watches are quality crafted, look great and are real eye catchers. I am currently looking to buy another for my son. To attest to the craftsmanship, I took mine to a local jeweler and asked about having it cleaned, and was told I would have to take it to a high end watch dealer. He told me he would not open the case on a watch like this. It looks good enough that the jeweler thought it to be high end! I have no idea why this company does not just main stream these watches without the BS sales pitch. I would compare what they do to what Kirby vacuum company has always done with sales! They have a good quality product but as Kirby is just a good looking vac, this is just a watch!

Jewelers are not watchmakers. Not even the same skill set. They may sell watches, but most know nothing about servicing them. A jeweler sets stones in metal, while a watchmaker repairs tiny mechanical machines. Going to a jeweler for advice about mechanical watches is like going to a chiropractor for advice on heart surgery.

The people advising and posting on this board ARE watchmakers, yet you ignore their/our advice about the relatively low quality of these Chinese-manufactured watches and consult a local jeweler who is NOT a watchmaker and knows nothing about watches (and who wouldn't/couldn't even open the watch to examine it). Makes no sense at all.

Keep buying inexpensive, mass-produced Chinese "bling" watches if you wish, but don't delude yourself into thinking that they compare in quality to a fine Swiss brand. You're getting exactly what you pay for.

Wouldn't Invicta fall into this same marketing strategy- high MSRP with huge (90%-95%) discount? I'm inundated with ads for these at another major online sellers site...
