eBay has really started something with that phrase. It now seems to be the 'catch phrase' for anything that is not to a buyer's liking. And a real good excuse to neg a seller or not pay for something or to not return something. "It would Not Be A Positive Experience"! 'If a buyer has to communicate with a seller about a broken or SNAD item, it is 'not a positive experience'. Solution? Post a neg. 'If I don't get my feedback quickly after I've immediately paid using PayPal, it is 'not...

Please, power sellers and not so power sellers have the common courtesy to respond to ZERO feedback members who ask to place a bid on your items listed of interest. I am an adult over 50 and cannot abide the lack of mutual respect. This does not apply to the vast majority, however, for those still out there, please extend to members the same courtesy we extend to you. It is not my intention to offend anyone, if I have please accept my sincerest apologies. I am a collector and missed out on an...

Hi people, I need your input on this: seller galleryduval is a huge seller of "antiques". they have great feedbacks.. however i'm getting VERY suspicious on bidding on any item of theirs. 1- most of their art works, though "authenticated" by a so called expert (always the same) are blatant "antique styled" paintings. Mind you I do have my major in Art... 2- what REALLY has caught my attention is a specific item, currently posted as Item number: 190043151242. This painting has been on...

I recently won an auction for a lot of 10 Hard Drives. The seller claimed they were untested and sold as is. Now I assumed at least a couple would be bad, maybe even half. The problem is every single one of them was bad. Sure there were 10 drives, but all of them clicked and whined as soon as being powered up amounting to nothing better than paper weights. Also, as a side note, the seller jam packed these drives in to a flat rate priority mail box with little to no packaging. As the seller...

Buyer reads description, is satisfied with the item in question, bids, wins, pays, receives.. and then.. finds a defect that makes the item a pain to use. At the very bottom of the auction posting under payment descriptions there is the phrase: "As is, no return policy". If the defect is overlooked by the seller, it is an honest mistake, and hopefully the seller will refund purchase price on return of item. Bottom line... Does including "As is, no return policy" in the auction posting...

I bought a Toyota 4 runner from Texas. The engine was described as beeing in good condition and trouble-free. When I went to get it, I just drove it for 15 miles and the engine blew up. I tried to talk to the individual who sold me the veicle what happened. But he said the vehicle was sold "as is" so ithey can not refund me. What to do?

Fellow Ebayer's, I need your advice. Here is what happend (in bullet statements). 1. I purchased an item using "Buy it Now," on Monday, January 1st. The cost of the item was approximately $26. When I paid for the item on Paypal, the shipping cost for standard USPS shipping was $7.95. I obviously paid for the item in full. 2. The next day, January 2nd, I received an email from the seller which informed me that 'part' of my item had shipped. 3. Now, on January 4th, I received an...

I don't buy on eBay all the time, so my "score" is only about 15 or 16, but in 3+ years as a member I've never had one bad experience nor have I ever received negative feedback. Until now. Now, I'm not thin skinned or anything, but the circumstances surrounding this entire transaction have left me simmering over the slipshop way in which some sellers run their operation (which in this case may be throwing "keggers" every other day, for all I know -- it certainly looks like they could afford...

I bought it now, paid instantly via PP . Received note from seller : " Upon processing of your order I discovered that I am temporarily out of stock of the item you ordered. I expect to have more units in stock within 1-2 weeks, but at this time I do not have a specific date. I would like to extend my apologies for any inconvenience this delay may have caused you and offer you either:A 100% refund OR to be listed on the “Rain Check” list, you would be #1 on the list when the new...

It it considered acceptable practice to post items as "Buy It Now" and then not have those items in stock? This just happened to me with a purchase (actually 2 purchases from the same store), and I want to be sure before I leave negative feedback and look for other action to take.

What is eBay's issue with leaving the "Buy It Now" option on a listing even if the reserve has been met? I've had troubles as a seller with bad buyers meeting the reserve and eliminating the option and as a buyer having the price ran up by an unpaying bidder.

I am considering purchasing an item that has "calculate" for the shipping amount. The "calculate" is giving me an amount roughly $12-14 more than I have paid on similar items. I emailed the seller yesterday, and have not recieved a reply. I have read here about sellers shifting their profits into the s/h end. Is there any way I can find out/access what this seller has entered into the database on this item, which is making the calculated amount coming out so high? Thanks Does this...

My ex husband was killed on the 16th in a snowmobile accident and his brother had a heart attack on the spot and passed away also. I have an 8 year old daughter who I hadn't even shopped for yet and money was tight as I had been out of work and just started a new job a few weeks ago and was waiting for my first paycheck. On Christmas Eve morning after 2 days at the funeral home and another full day for the double funeral I asked my little girl what she wanted from Santa and she told me the...
