I dont know about all of you, but Im sick of ebays policy changes. I hated the feedback change, It is unfair, now the insurance? Im considering trying another auction site. It seems every month or two brings another change, always in the buyers favor, I feel like Im on a merry go round, and Im about to get sick. why is it our responsibility to make sure an item gets to the buyer, what if its lost or stolen? do we have to eat it? I can see problems on the horizon. Someone get me a puke bag.

I've been selling since '98 but have not listed any items since the changes in insurance policies. As I understand it, I can no longer require nor make optional shipping insurance. If I want the item to be insured I must do that myself. If I want to add it to the cost of the item it must be done through "handling" fees or added to the "set-in" price of the item. If it is added to the "set-in" price then eBay gets a percentage of it as part of the sales price. If added to the handling fee...

I've had several potential buyers complain about Shipping Costs with Insurance included being too high. "I'd buy your item but your shipping cost is too high" as one potential buyer put it. I've decided that IF I ever sell on Ebay again that I'm just going to charge for FIRST CLASS USPS POSTAGE and if the item isn't recieved, the buyer can than take it up with Ebay and the USPS! I keep all of my reciepts from mailing sold items and that's all I am going to keep to show that the item was sent...

I would appreciate any advice on this issue. Buyer purchases a musical instrument of substantial value ($2,000.00.) Item is shipped fully insured, professionally packed by UPS itself in addition to item's hardshell case (Pack & Promise guaranteed.) Buyer receives shipment, signs for it and then asserts item damaged in shipment. Buyer takes pictures of allegedly damaged item. UPS is called for claim. Buyer is instructed to retain boxing/packing materials and agrees. Buyer is instructed...

Here is my latest checklist for you folks: Tips for Avoiding the Fraudulent Escrow Service Scam. Always consider every escrow company to be fraudulent until you have checked them out and proven them to be real. Do not use a seller's positive feedback to gauge their honesty! Too many of you are using the wrong criteria to determine someone’s honesty on eBay. The eBay feedback system was great in its day, and might still be ok to use for books, CDs, DVDs, etc., but not for big ticket...

Which of these are legit? Are they both? Are neither of them legitimate? I bought an Xbox 360 and would like a warranty on it. I have the choice to go with either of these, but I'm not sure which is better or if either of them are good. Can you guys help?

I shipped a ceramic item to an APO address with USPS insurance added. The item was double boxed and in perfect condition when I mailed it.I I initially received an e-mail from the buyer accusing me of purposely sending a damaged item and that he would "take action"if I didn't refund. I sent an e-mail back thanking him for contacting me and asked if he could describe the damage to me as I would be filing an insurance claim.I also asked him to retain the item along with the packaging as it...

I just sent an item that was good when it left but arrived damaged. I just printed the label, paid through papal and dropped it off at the ups store. It left intact but apparently the guy who bought it received it damaged. What is supposed to happen now? I'm pretty busy at the moment and don't have the time to spend hours reading user agreements and ebay policies nor do I need the expertise in this since I don't sell much and it hasn't been an issue yet. Could someone just give me the abridged...

Ok, I'm a little confused here. I know that eBay did away with optional insurance. What exactly does this mean? Is insurance now required on every item shipped? Is it no longer up to the buyer if they want or don't want insurance? Does the seller now decide to insure or not to insure? If insurance is required, how would eBay enforce this rule? Do you really have to insure every $3 item? Could someone spell this out to me, and clear up the confusion?

Why isn't insurance offered on a invoice anymore? Do we now have to add a cost for insurance into a shipping fee, and charge a buyer even if the buyer wont want the insurance?

I am not a power seller. I'm just trying to clean out my house before retiring. At first Ebay was the perfect place to do it. It was fun. But now I feel like I'm in a dictatorship. First they took away my right to accept checks & money orders. More money into the PayPal coffers. Then they took away negative feedback for buyers. I am now getting stiffed all the time. Now they want to take away insurance as an option. WHAT ARE THEY NUTS!!!! They have taken away my buyers that only want to...

As a buyer...and a Power Seller....I am furious with all the changes eBay is making. This latest "improvement" is that we can no longer offer (or buy) insurance on eBay items. What is the matter with these people? Do they have nothing to do but try to drive us all off the site?. If anyone at eBay is reading these boards, PLEASE, PLEASE cancel this policy. I do NOT want to raise the cost of the items in my store and include insurance on everything. The justification that other etailers...

I do not know why is all the fuss when Ebay changes policies. Ebay is nothing more that a newspaper for advertisement of goods, they are not responsible for anything, we pay Ebay a fee for the advertisement + we pay Ebay a fee for the final price of the auction. Also if the customer pays with Paypal, Paypal also gets a hefty fee. Both identities are very-well rewarding. But that is business. Sooooo, as a seller protect your selves, Purchase, delivery confirmation, applied insurance to the...

I will NOT send a package out with no insurance, unless it is worth only few dollars, and I can replace, it, but for the most part....everything will be insured. But now I am forced to raise my weights to get that insurance $, because I have lowered my prices as much as I possibly can. I do BIN's only, so this seems to be the only way I can get my insurance $, unless I ask moe for my items, and I WILL NOT give ebay one cent more than I have to already! So.. I guess I will be spending many...
