1) Advice on the new way to list Insurance on new listings. Should I say "included in shipping and handling" which I guess it is since paypal will make me pay, or just indicate "not offered". I will not be buying insurance on most of my items, so I don't want buyers to be upset that I am 'self insuring' most items 2) second question if eBay disallows offering "option insurance" payment by buyers - why didn't they just DELETE that from all their listings as of the 22nd? I know they...

1) I sold several items to one customer. They added on the cost of insurance to their shipping expense. When I tried to print the label it says NO where the insurance was to be added. And I cannot add it either. Now what? 2) I recently mailed a breakable to a customer and attempted to add insurance at my expense, and the system wouldn't let me do that either. Why not? Why does Ebay care whether we want insurance or not, or who pays for it?

Is the Sept 22nd deadline for for any auction ending after that date or listing by that date? Just trying to figure out if the 5 day listings I am posting today will be ok or if I need to drop the insurance option already.

Is there a way that we as sellers could purchase an insurance policy that would cover all items that we sell? Not individual policies per item through USPS or Auctiva, but for example....like you purchase your car insurance that covers any accident you may have or home insurance that would cover your household items, etc. Why not a policy that we could buy per year that would be available as needed and doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

I normally ship 10 packages a week. I have not had anyone ask for insurance from me in years and I have never had a problem. The one time someone asked for it, USPS insurance it was received broken. They sent me pictures of the item. It is a faceplate of the radio, but the radio is still functional. Although I think it is fraud I guess I have no option but to go through the motions. My question is, should they get to keep the item? Or should it be sent back to me? I plan on relisting it...

Has anyone filed with a claim on Auctiva's insurance? Was it successful? Does anyone know if they cover vinatge collectible jewelry (bakelite) or buttons (no precious metals or stones)? The policy is written with U-Pic who excludes jewelry but under the Auctiva policy at their website, the only exclusions related in any way to jewelry are loose precious/semi precious stones. I really need this info, would appreciate any help you can give. Am trying to figure out best way to insure more valuable...

I am selling limited edition items hand made items, some are one of a kind and they are ceramic, FRAGILE!!!! and CANNOT be replaced, the buyers only recourse if one of the irreplacable items breaks in shipment is to be reimbursed by the shipper via insurance. Why do I have to cover the cost of clumsy UPS drivers, some of these items are over $1300.00, the insurnce will be high and the shipper requires it! I will have to add this cost into the purchase price, not fair to customers, not...

I am posting this under my real selling name. What bugs me about the insurance decision is that I'm feeling a pinch here. Sure, I can recoup the cost of insurance by adding a handling fee to all my auctions, but it's hard enough to get good shipping DSRs as it is. And now with the new "Top Seller Status," they are squeezing me again, and for those of you who are power sellers, did you notice the sly little remark that eBay is graciously giving us, "...eight full months to evaluate and adjust...

I'm attempting to change my auction template under International Shipping to reflect ebay's new insurance rules. I want to make sure I am following the rules. This is my the new info below, does this look OK? Can I say "no insurance" for 1st class international mail? or is that against ebays rulesINTERNATIONAL PAYMENT: PayPal only. Customs value will be the sale price of the auction, I can not mark customs forms as 'gift' or for a lesser value. Buyers are responsible for paying any of their...

I bought an item and paid the seller for insurance. The item was damaged but repairable. I was waiting for the seller to be reimbursed expecting him to forward the check, since I paid for insurance and I've been inconvenienced. According to the shipping company a check was mailed to the seller 2 weeks ago and he never told me. Now he says I should just get it fixed and he'll reimburse me for the repair (he'll pocket the difference). Trust is gone. What should I do?

Hi, does anyone know if the insurance 'column' or info for insurance which is usually next to shipping rates in the SHIPPING & PAYMENT section be automatically removed by Ebay from everyone's listings ? (kind of like when the option for Money Orders disappeared as an option). Are we as sellers only responsible for removing any mention of insurance from our actual descriptions, if mentioned ? (Not that this is ANY small feat, for sure !!) And what is the deadline for removing all mention of...

I did not read all the other posts up here, so maybe this is a common question or not. So if it's true that eBay is changing the insurance rules and they say you can't ask buyers for it now BUT you can add it to your shipping and/or handling fee. Well what about the shipping prices they have locked in, like on books or music, dvds etc. Using Turbolister will not allow me to increase the cost of shipping in order(if I want to) add insurance cost to shipping and/or handling..right? or will they...
