Many sellers have posted on the feedback board saying they will not give a positive unless the buyer has indicated that he/she is satisfied with the transaction. I think those sellers have a good idea, but are mistaken about who should leave feedback to show that the buyer is satisfied. I suppose that when a buyer leaves positive feedback, the seller gives a positive and says in the feedback statement, "This is a satisfied buyer". I have been a Hallmark ornament collector for years. Every now and then I have to trim the collection to fit on my trees (and of course allow room for new ornaments), so I sell some pieces on eBay. On occasion I sell other items on eBay as well, but mostly I’m a buyer, who has just received her first negative feedback, wholly undeserved. I don't typically follow these boards so if you have a comment for me then please email. 10 years now as a seller, long term power seller, 2800+ listings in my store, often around a thousand a month revenue earner for Ebay/Paypal and since the new policy a "Top Rated Seller", yay. Check this negative I just received out: "I ordered the wrong part and they don't take returns!!". Who should leave feedback first? or what is the prefered way to leave feedback? Does the seller leave feedback as soon as the payment is recieved or is ok to wait till feedback is received from the buyer. In my mind I feel I should wait to get feedback from my buyer to guage their satisfactin. Of course as a buyer I'm always happy to receive payment for my item so the only negetive thing to report would be a buyer that is having buyers remorse or just unhappy with damage sustaind during...

Is there anyway I can get buyers to leave feedback? I always ship the next business day after I receive payment and I always leave positive feedback after I ship their item and I've had several buyer's not leave me any feedback after the transaction. Does anyone know why they wouldn't? It just seems inconsiderate. And every once in awhile, I will get 1's or 2's when clearly not deserved. I am tired of sellers canceling all bids and ending auctions early, because they are not getting the price they desire. I red the rules, they can cancel for no reason if more then 12 hours remain in the auction. However, I can not find out how to find how much time was remaining. Without a way to see this, we don't know if the seller is in compliance with the rules. I also believe we should be able to leave negative feedback for sellers who do this. I recently found out that Sellers can no longer rate negative feedback for Buyers. Ebay sent me the reasons after an inquiry I made -- alright, I was fine with the corporate policy. However, I DO NOT understand why "unpaid item" strikes against a Buyer are not made public as one of the statistics? The statistic of a buyer becomes less meaningful since the public does not know if a buyer has a tendency to neglect following through on his winning bids. The fact that these "unpaid item"...

I recently purchased an item that was listed as new, never used, but when i received the item it clearly was used as it was scratched, the seller has not responded, i have opened a case but haven't heard anything from the seller or e-bay, has anyone else been through this?

My sister got this response from ebay regarding a dispute for an item not rec'd. It was the last day that she could file a dispute and nothing had happened on it yet, so she was asking what is going on. The letter starts off ok and then goes downhill from there. I was a bit surprised when an item I won was refunded with an explanation that the item was damaged but the damage wasn't noticed until the seller went to ship it. It sure sounds suspicious. Then it happened again with a different item from a different seller. Again - suspicious, b/c who's to say they didn't get a better offer or something. I did receive prompt refunds but was quite dissapointed (was excited to have won). Do I leave negative feedback, neutral feedback, or no feedback?...

i won the LV bag with the price $1070 CAD from seller from Belgium Europe. I m very happy when i receive the bag so quickly and don't hesitate to left him the possitive feedback as well.However, that bag was FAKE, and i did sent email to the seller to notice about that and request the refund. But, he refused to refund money to me, so i open dispute and claim to paypal. I sold some scrap dental gold to a buyer in PR. A week after receiving they emailed me that it had teeth in it. Well I did not sell him teeth it did have a small amount of waste but not the amount he said. So I told them to send it back to me and I would refund the money they paid. the seller joekortash93de assured me for months he was waiting on the insurance to settle to send me my refund on a broken window. Silly me, I trusted him. Now Paypal & ebay resolution say too bad. I would at least like to warn other buyers but I can't enter feedback, although I never left any for him. Is this the seedy underside of ebay?

Hello all, I sold an item to an international buyer who requested that I undervalue the item on customs declaration and mark it as "spare parts" when it is a fully functional laptop still under warranty. I canceled the transaction and after some griping, he agreed. However, he left negative feedback. A recent auction winner of mine emailed me after winning asking for an address to send payment to. I emailed back and pointed out that I only accept paypal, and that my listing stated this. He emailed saying he doesn't use paypal, asking again for my address. I emailed back saying that if he was unable or unwilling to pay via paypal I would be forced to file an unpaid item complaint in order to get my listing fees back. Anyone refusing to list might check out recent prices. I don't know other stuff, but my stuff has been doing really well over the last 2-3 weeks. I had an item go for $63 tonight which was struggling to hit $40 last spring.

I sold a shirt that was new & never worn, the material was very stiff because it had never been washed. The collar tag was very stiff & obviously brand new, anybody looking at it would have to agree it was new & never worn. My listing had a very clear, close-up photo of the shirt. The main collar tag had a smaller size tag under it that clearly showed a pinhole from the original store tag that went through, the size of a small sewing needle. It also clearly showed one stray thread on each side...

OK, time to consult with the experts to see if there's any way to get a negative removed. Just wondering if there is a trigger point at which a person that leaves numerous negs and neutrals would face any repercussions. For example, someone that has left 50 negs and neutrals so far this year. Is Ebay so bad that it's likely that over 10% of all transactions are not positive? Or does it seem that this may be a case where someone is abusing the system in order to get refunds on purchases from sellers that are worried about protecting their feedback. I won an auction and have heard nothing since. It's been awhile now and I paid within seconds seller said would ship within 3 days on terms of shiiping and payments tab within the auction. Was wondering what do you do when they wont even reply to your questions and messages about the item? I just want to know if it's shipped and no response leaves me too believe they are avoiding the issue.It's one thing if the post office is at fault and one thing if it's the seller when I'm leaving feedback....

I see where some Burger King franchisees are suing the company for requiring them to sell double cheeseburgers for 99c. While the product only costs the store about 58c to produce, by the time they pay the rent wages and all it costs them $1.10. Anyone care to make a case that it's unethical to buy a 99c BK double cheeseburger?

How can someone post an item and even have jewelry stamped as though it is 14kt and "citrine" which turned out to be yellow CZs at best. Only to take to a real jeweler and find that it is a plated piece of metal??!! I see they removed themselves from selling but should they come back up, I am looking to leave fair warning for anyone bidding!

buyer closed my auction, tried to re inebriate the price after she closed the auction. I declined, she then accused me of not listing the item properly. The end result she did not pay at all I filed the non paying buyer, she did not pay. I closed it and got my fee back. She left me a negative. So is this how it works? She did make offer I accepted, then she changed her mind. Wow this is horrible.

If I list a item that says payment is due 3 days within auction closing unless other arrangements are made and four days pass and no word from them can I refund them their money and relist? Can they leave me bad feedback? Thanks

I placed a bid and won the item. Paid with Paypal and then was told that they couldn't find the item and would return my money to paypal. When I went to leave feedback and I just left a neutral and the reason, my feed back was not accepted.

I just won 4 items from the same seller and I have tried leaving her positive feedback. When I finish, although it says I have left feedback, it doesn't show on her feedback page or on mine (as having left it). The feedback form is different from the last time I left feedback (about a week or so ago), but I'm getting annoyed at why it's not showing up. Any ideas?

Over there in the news -, we see a message from Lorie offering buyer coupons for buyers who were disrupted by the search outage. Anyone have any idea what that is about? Near as I can tell, the one seller I bought items from during the outage has shipped them; he certainly put up the DC#. So I'm not expecting or deserving of any coupon of any kind. Just curious.

hello, I have a pretty good feedback, well I guess? I am trying to understand why my feedback rating is getting lower, it seems like the more positive feedback I get the lower the rate goes, yesterday I had 99.8% and now I was happy to see 2 more + feedback so I checked and instead go up went down to 99.7%, I have only one negative feedback form a buyer that said never got her item when actually she did, I have a confirmation number from USPS to proof the item was delivered. I had a couple of items on my watch list that I was considering bidding on. I clicked on to the calculator icon on the summary page and below the shipping cost it said: Important: Insurance or Loss/Damage charges will be calculated based on final value of items(s). Does this mean the seller is going to tack on an additional amount to the shipping total quoted for the item? Right now my choice is to not bid on it, because of this message, but just wanted to know if that is what it means.

Whats with all the hostility? From reading a lot the responses to buyers here, it's pretty obvious that to a lot of sellers leaving feedback for buyers is bogus. It's a waste of time, pointless to the nth degree. It's voluntary, many say, I don't have to do it. So is it okay with you if I elect to not leave you positive feedback? Even when you have gone out of your way to list properly, present honestly and have done the work that needed to be done to make a positive outcome occur?...

I just received 6 neg feedbacks, after a buyer tried to buyer over 10,000 worth of product from me..unfortunately I did not have that much in stock (would have loved the sale), money never exchanged hands, did an immediate transaction cancelation, emailed buyer and told them sorry but I dont have that much in stock, but buyer left 6 neg feedbacks... Is there any way to undo negative feedback from a buyer, but the seller has canceled the item and given a refund in full? I recently pre-sold an item to a guy on 11/09. I injured my leg on 11/13 and did not believe I could follow through on the presales, so I closed my store, canceled the items and issued refunds through echecks, which take a few days to clear but PayPal shows they are pending.
