I've taken an interest in the work of an artist from my mother's hometown in France and may wish to bid on some pieces that I occasionally see on ebay.fr. My mother is gone so I'm unable to ask her help. I can usually understand written French if given enough time with the occasional help of the internet but writing it is sure to result is disaster. I had a repeat buyer from Italy and the first package I sent to him took 2-3 weeks to arrive. I sent him a 2nd package at the end of October and he just filed a PayPal claiming item not received. It hasn't even been 3 full weeks yet. Don't some International shipments take up to 6-8 weeks? I told him last week, to please give it until the end of this week and he said ok, but then filed the pp dispute today. WTF!?

How would a potential buyer send US funds from Belgium to US? He has an interest in one of my $9.99 items and would like to pay in US cash. Does anyone know how to safely send cash from Belgium? Or should I just tell him Western Union Money Transfer(if they have WU in his parts)? I really enjoy selling international, so that is not a problem. Thanks for any help.

I need help I am shipping internationally and am not real sure of what countries I can and can not ship to? I did do an in depth research so all this is not off the cuff....however, after researching for a while I ran across an ad from here is the USA and it said due to Country something in another we can not ship to Italy & France? Hi I am shipping to Canada for the first time just regular priority mail USPS..and it says i have to fill out a Custom Form...Is this a normal routine? Also, it won't let me print the label from home without the buyers phone #. If I go to the actual post office...would it be easier and do I still have to fill out a Custom Form and put the buyers phone #? Thanks Kim

I listed a Sony PSP on ebay a couple days ago. I have not recieved any bids on it but I get an email from a guy asking if the item is still available and in good condition and he asked me to respond to his email adress because he doesnt check his ebay account often. So i responded to him saying the item was still available and in good condition. A international buyer stated that the item i sold him wasnt the same as i posted. So I was willing to give him a full refund if he wasnt please, but he wanted a partial refund so i told him no to fill a case. So in the case, he stated he wanted a partial refund and i put that ill only give a full refund and he ships it back. I had set up several auctions of scrub uniforms to get rid of them, not what I typically sell. Anyway, it turns out an international bidder won 3 of them tonight. I looked through the listing and I of course didn't specify in the listing that I wouldn't ship internationally, however, the only shipping charge I do have listed is in the "Shipping and Payments" tab and it says that I ship to U.S. and nowhere else. Hello everyone. I have been reading a lot on this board about FCMI loss. There are basically 3 types of sellers I see here. One is the seller who is fairly new to losing packages to international destinations and the 'no recourse' option Paypal takes due to lack of tracking. To this seller I offer the warning that it will only get worse. The second is the seller who has had enough and stopped shipping internationally altogether. Hi Peeps, I just shipped a $90.00 Coach wristlet to Indonesia, to a buyer with no feedback. She paid for the item, plus $12.95 flat rate shipping.(right away). I learned here on the boards, I could get a 3rd party to insure it...so I shipped it today. Dear all, Recently I won a bid, but I received an invoice with the total that higher than what I won+shipping because the seller charges me additional US$0.5. Question??? I sent my first international package to Russia on 11/9/09. I sent it USPS Priority International and the tracking information still does not show the package received as of today, 11/20/09. Is this normal. USPS Priority International says 6-10 delivery time. I am a first time seller. I have been chatting with a prospective buyer in Canada about the item. He has asked that I "enable international bidders". He says he has been closed out in the past (and at the end of an auction) when he tries to bid, but the item is not enabled for international bidders. Can anyone help?

Guys! I was selling an item, and in my listing was written that I ship to US. The highest bidder appeared to be from Indonesia. Have nothing against Indonesia, but saw a lot of posts about scammers from this country. Is there anyone with experience of selling to Indonesia? I personally have stopped shipping first class international. I have had so many problems. First, you can't track a first class package. Second, if the buyer files a dispute against you....paypal automatically gives them their money back because you don't have a tracking number. Third, it is a lose-lose situation, you are out the money and the merchandise. I have lost ALOT. After the third loss, I stopped shipping First Class. Why are other sellers still offering first class international...

Or at least, once that have filed their claim, do they ever acknowledge that the item has arrived after their purchase price has been refunded? I've only had two; one to France, one to Italy, but never another peep out of them...........On the other hand, over the years, I have had many hundreds of international buyers who received their items with no problem at all. I found a website which can track China Post air mail parcel. The website is: www.track-chinapost.com So if you ship goods from China, you can give this website to your buyer and track the shipment. Hope this can help ebay seller and buyers.

I'm selling a pair of ice skate boots. A bidder with (8) feedback asked if I will ship to Japan. I don't have a problem doing so, but is there any risk I am unaware of? I've read a bit about international buyers, but haven't seen anything specifically about Japan. I found it a bit odd that the question didn't come to my email like they usually do. that I have the general idea about shipping internationally. Customs: I want to make sure I understand this. A package is rec'd in another country and goes through customs. Does it then get sent to the buyer's address? How does that person go about paying customs' fees'? Shipping Fees: I am only resp to inform the bidders of shipping and insurance charges. Hello, I recently sold a Gurkha knife and didn't realize until I was getting it ready to ship that the seller is in Germany. Since I know there are restrictions on sending some knives overseas I checked the USPS info for Germany and it mentions 'arms and weapons' as being prohibited. This knife does have a working blade but it is mostly for decorative/display purposes - can I mark the customs form as 'decorative knife' or should I just give the buyer a refund assuming the package will get...

I just started selling after a year hiatus. When I posted the listing, there was a cross-border trade fee. What is this? I couldn't find anything on this site about it. Then another listing said, Ebay warning - not eligible for cross-border trade? Is it that certain countries can't accept the items. I never had this when I used to sell internationally. I've heard many horror stories about international selling on eBay but I received an interesting email. The person told me that he lives in France but said that he has friends in the US that I can ship the item to. He only has two transactions however so that is what scares me. I'm selling a very high dollar item too so what should I do? He is basically asking if he can bid on my item and wants to know if I can work with him. Any help would be appreciated.

I never had any problems with international buyers until recently. They have somewhat turned out rotten. One guy hacked into one of my auctions, bought something, never paid since I canceled the transaction and left negative feedback, and ebay wont remove it. Another guy left negative feedback because shipping was not free-wtf?- and ebay wont remove it. Another guy left negative feedback claiming I over charge him because he had to pay an additional custom fee which has nothing to do with me,...

UK buyer paid and then asked me to mark as gift, $50 value to save him $. Should I give the opportunity to cancel everything? or, after I say no, just send it anyway, marked according to USPS regs. I am currently selling an expensive bicycle (approx $2000) and had a guy bid on it from Sweeden. While I stated that I will not ship internationally, he claimed that I would be shipping it to AZ where his dad lives. As long as he is paying via paypal, is this safe? I recently discovered the global site, but every single search I have entered brings no results. I travel some and my interest is in military surplus. I find it almost everywhere, except in a global search. Is this another example of e-bay s sometimes weird policies? I occasionally find items listed on e-bay that are located abroad, so if I am searching another countries site I figured I might find some too. Thanks for any comments(polite ones) or suggestions.
