I paid a person for a camera and received "women's clothing" instead via UPS so I immediately filed a SNAD dispute but was surprised to learn that I have no buyer protection becuase "it only covers the purchasing of goods" [which is what i purchased] and it does not cover "attributes of the goods" which I don't understand since i received an entirely different item so I called paypal, explained everything and a rep told me that they will look into the case but it will take a few months and no...

I have 2 ebay accts, one for buying and one for selling, but only one Paypal account for both, so there is always some money in it. So all purchases are made with a Paypal Balance. I keep hearing that it's better to fund purchases with CC for my protection, but isn't it true that if you have a Paypal balance they will use that first, so there is no way to fund with a CC. Please tell me if this strategy will work and if it makes sense: Open a separate Paypal account (kept at a zero balance)...

how can anyone make a profit selling an item at .99. after ebay takes out their listing fee and their 9% final value fee and then paypal takes out .30 + and additional 3% which also includes the shipping. how on earth does anyone make any money. is it even worth the time to list the item. let alone package it and drive to the post office to mail it. It seems to me that you would be paying out of your own pocket instead of making a profit. I am very confused on this! Why does paypal...

Hi, I have a buyer who claims he can't pay me with PayPal as he has trouble or problem with it which I could confirm with PayPal. He asked for alternative. As he is from USA and I'm from EU wire money transfer would be most likely costly for me or the buyer. Logically he does have a friend in EU who could pay me without much of a cost via bank. But then he says his friend wants to pay via PayPal. I'm feeling wary about this and would now indeed like to confirm if the buyer has trouble...

I have never had a buyer with a confirmed address in the USA ask to ship out of the US using Fedex. She wants to know the rates using Fedex to Bahrain. I am afraid to ship anywhere but her confirmed address which is in Texas. Has this happened to anybody ? I don't think this is safe at all. Am I worrying unnecessarily? What should I tell her? Thanks!

Well paypal it taking a slice of my shipping money. Total Amount: $279.28 USD Fee amount: -$11.19 USD Net amount: $268.09 USD It's not alot but the point is, the shipping money is not my profit, it is a set cost required to make Ebay work. Without shipping Ebay is nothing. I don't like it when they take money from the shipping cost.

One buyer has had Email sent to me from service@paypal.com claiming that the item has been paid for and will be active in my account once shipping info has been sent.... spoof@paypal.com has verified these messages as PHISHINGS. Mean it is a scam. No payment will ever be with-held by PAYPAL. The problem is that the Messages received in my Email were very authentic looking. even as it appeared to be from a @paypal.com address that sent the messages... Be Careful. Especially with high value...

i purchased and item yesterday and went to pay with paypal using my credit card. they would not take the card payment so i had to use my bank transfer to pay. i just used my credit card for payment with pp last week no problem. i went into pp and re entered my card info and pp said card already on file. the card has a "0" balance on it so should have gone thru just fine. i am just puzzled with what the problem could be. the card will not expire until 2011.

Some people have several accounts on E-bay: one for buying, one for selling. Since you've had to add PayPal as a form for payment, have you had any problems once you've added Paypal (just for buying?). I don't see any problems on a "buy only account", but perhaps there may be.

I've sold three things at auction in the last 2 weeks and in every instance the buyer has paid via PayPal. In all three cases I have received an email from the buyer's email address that confirms the payment along with wording / format as follows: To: Seller's email address From: Buyer's email address Subj: Re: "correct item number - notification of instant payment received from Buyers email address / Buyer's Pay Pal account" "hello Seller's Firstname, Seller's Lastname" You...

After reading all the Paypal horror stories I think I'll pass on Paypal. Can I just enter a CC# to pay for an item I won on eBay w/o getting a Paypal account?

As some of you know, when printing labels for USPS Flat Rate Boxes only the Medium Flat Rate Box is currently an option on PayPal. If you want to print a label for a Small Flat Rate Box or Large Flat Rate Box you must go through USPS.com. Doing so costs extra time and inconvenience when it could be and option on PayPal. I asked PayPal to make those other options available and their response was they are only able to make the Medium Flat Rate Box available at this time. I believe with much...
