I recently bought a laptop that proved to be DOA after being listed as 'working'. The seller's policy states 'no refunds' although he didn't blink when I made him aware of the problem..."send it back". Of course, I fully intend to use proof of delivery, but if I send it back without paypal being involved from the beginning, will they accept my proof later? As a side note, some of the seller's feedback notes a slowness to refund although this may be attributed to impatient buyers. What is...

To the detriment of us good sellers, these that dunn Paypal need to be removed. They are dragging eBay down and gloating over it. Obviously they can not make a go of it and just talk trash of eBay and Paypal.

I made a transfer from paypal acconunt to my bank account and it already takes them 7 days and transfer is not comlpeted. I called their customer service and they say it will take few more days. It is really bad customer service. There was no problems with transactions between seller and buyer everything went quick and smooth. It is PayPal who is taking such long time. If you are using Paypal be careful don't count on founds to be there in 3-4 days like they advertise.

I have not sold on eBay for a year now. I left Oct 20th 2008 because of the PayPal only mandate as I did not have a merchant account and still do not. Just looking at the forum posts it seems like nothing has changed with sellers getting fleeced using Paypal. I know they have new pay services introduced, but looks like the same problems abound there too. Any comments are welcome.

I have pretty much stopped buying on Ebay due to the PayPal requirement. (I have 300 purchases, but only about three in the last year-plus.) Today I saw something I would actually bid pretty high on, but decided not to bid as I just don't want to get into PayPal again. Can someone explain why Ebay is forcing PayPal on Ebay users? I don't get the sense the sellers are crazy about this requirement either.

People: Paypal is what your buyers WANT. Why are you fighting it, is it the negativity you have? Are you a NO person, just love to tell buyers what they can and cannot do..... RECENT true story. A newly reopened local restaurant? They had a low level worker (waitress) She lived for the days you were 1 minute beyond their alleged cut off time for breakfast. I could here her gloating in her voice in telling you that... Guess what? They closed, and the owners wonder why....

I am trying to get my online selling back going again. What is the best way to protect the seller when using paypal? How does seller protection protect us the sellers? Has anyone had any luck with the other payment methods. I get tired of all the scam scum buyers. They are nothing more than thugs that rob someone and then laugh in your face. I guess I am lucky have not lost much money from them. Mary

I'm a seller whose buyer didn't receive her item, and the post office information shows it's most likely lost. I'm okay with issuing a refund and had planned to do so today, but my buyer opened a dispute saying we agreed to refund. I didn't know she was going to do that, but now I'm confused on how to proceed. I didn't have a balance in my PayPal account and it appears that PayPal has deducted the funds for the amount of the refund, which has put my account in the negative. My question is,...

The Paypal Wars: Battles with ebay, the Media, the Mafia, and the Rest of Planet Earth Amazon: When PayPal launched its online payment service and set out to overhaul global currency markets it successfully weathered the dot-com bust and a fierce competitive struggle with the auction giant eBay. long story short I ordered a wristlet(purse) and paid for it. Seller contacts me a few days ago and says that she sent me a package with the wrong items that were meant for someone else who is also in Canada. She discovered mistake when going to mail mine. I was asked to forward the package(the wrong one that I have already recieved) to it's rightful owner accross country and she will put $10 into my paypal acct. I contacted Canada post and they estimated around $13-$14 for shipping to the...

I thought I would add this new thread instead of updating my old one. I was notified by a named rep at Paypal Technical Services that echecks are no longer available as follows: If you have a confirmed credit card and bank account on your PayPal account you will no longer have e-check as a funding option for payment. This is a new change that went into effect on October 14th. I will add that this cannot be right since I was again able to send an echeck just yesterday. Echecks have...

Published: 2009-11-05 Online criminals have used the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system to facilitate the theft of more than $100 million from small and medium businesses, the FBI warned this week. The attacks typically use social engineering via e-mail messages to install malicious software on the computers of managers responsible for a business's financial transactions. The Trojan horse then transfers money from the firm's account, when the manager signs onto the business's bank...

Hello folks. Last week, I ALMOST fell victim to an ingenious new scheme by an online seller to get buyers to forfeit their PayPal Buyer Protection rights. Seller sent me a PayPal Request for Money after I placed an order with her for certain toy products. I was going to click the submit payment button when I noticed something odd. Instead of clicking the checkbox describing my order as one for goods, the seller had clicked the checkbox saying this was for "services". I later confirmed that this...

I bought an antique radio from a seller and I paid using PayPal, and the radio arrived with an entire corner of the base smashed. (The radio is made of bakelite). I believe this meets the terms of SNAD, one of the bullet points being "The item was damaged during shipment." Certainly this radio could not be sold now for anywhere near what I paid for it. So I contact the buyer, tell him it meets PayPal's SNAD description, and he says he isn't taking it back and tells me to persue a...

Dear Readers, Here is my story: About 3 months ago, I was told by EBay to block a customer for attempted extortion. As expected, the customer filed several false claims through PayPal which were resolved, primarily in my favor. Relevent this this case, he filed a "not as described" complaint through PayPal on an oil painting and lost his case. The reason he...

Hi guys, I bought a PS3 from a buyer that seemed to be reputable. They had 100% feedback at the time of purchase and they offered fast shipping so to speak. hello- just a general question about filing a snad. for example, the buyer in email communication has agreed to return the item because of an error made in the description. I have two problems right now with Paypal and wondered if anyone else has noticed them: 1) Paypal has stopped sending notification emails when Echecks clear. I get the initial notice that someone has paid with an echeck with the expected clear date, but have not received any notification when the funds actually clear. To all those who are and have suffered from Paypal's new "reserve" and "rolling reserve" policy, I am a victim also. I am tired of Paypal randomly deducting funds from my account and not notifying me prior. I just filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and hope that others will follw and do the same. This is something that should not be taken lightly when it comes to people working hard to earn money and then Paypal taking the money and holding it for up to 90 days or more. Paypal is...

I've noticed many Ebay sellers I've spoken with are not aware that they DON'T have to do business the Paypal way. Don't be a glutton for punishment - try one of the other services below. Moneybookers puts money into your OWN account at your gov. regulated bank, not a rinky dink, unregulated Paypal account. They also have very professional customer service, as opposed to the college students who decide what happens with your money at Paypal. No fake holds either. Moneybookers does not try...

difference is with PayPal, you can get burned FOR SURE. without PayPal, yes you might get burned. If you buy from someone, or sell to someone with 100% positive feedback, chances are your OK. But if you use PayPal, your chances of getting burned are doubled, because now they can use PayPal against you. This is a HUGE risk, obviously. Secondly, PayPal is slow as molasses going uphill in January. Unless you wanna TRIPLE your chances of getting burned and add your credit card....

I no longer sell ANYTHING on ebay due to their wrapped sense of ethical dealing. You HAVE to accept PAYPAL and they do not protect the SELLER. In some instances, PayPal will not release your funds until the buyer receives the item and replys with a positive comment. Hence, alot of buyers now purchase from the seller, then claim the item is not what was represented, and PayPal refunds the money without the seller getting the item back. SELLER BEWARE.
