OK, I know they are retiring old My Ebay on Jan 22. I don't know if that extends to the auctions or what. However. Ugh! I have "previewed" the new style format on my auctions by hitting "switch to the new version of this page". What I am seeing are huge white margins. The previous white margins were less than 1/2" The new white margins are over 1.5" Why are they scrunching my descriptions like that? Q #1) Is anyone else seeing this when they look through the new...

Hello, I have been trying to list and keep getting this message "unable to communicate with picture manager" I use Internet Explorer/Windows Xp. I have never had this problem before. I am using the Sell similar button on a previous auction, when I get to the add photo section, I click add photo's, which usually brings up another page, and it just hangs there forever! It finally will say, "Unable to communicate with picture manager" I can't even use basic uploader or enhanced uploader, which...

On some auctions, when pressing the "enlarge" sign under the photo, a larger box opens but the photo itself is still the same (small) size. Does this mean it is not working?

I am self hosting pictures. When the "Enlarge" button is clicked (beneath the picture in the listing), the picture is displayed WAY too big. Is there a way to control the size of the enlarged picture? Thanks, Bud

If I add my own pictures using HTML is there a way to have the "normal" picture showing but with an option to view supersized? If so, what sizes would I need to make the pictures. Would I have to have 2 copies of each image, one normal and one larger? Sorry if the wording doesn't make alot of sense, I am only semi-literate when it comes to computers.

We've determined that many of the intermittent Javascript errors experienced by members using Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP are caused by an Internet Explorer problem, which Microsoft has documented and fixed as part of the August 2005 Windows Update hotfixes. For example, this problem, in most cases, causes the failures of the Description Builder, Add Pictures, and Live Chat features within the Sell Your Item form that many members began reporting a few months ago. Using Windows Update to...

As of today, changes to the site to remove the selling form (SYI) user interface for selecting the free Picture Show upgrade were completed. Previously, the Picture Show feature checkbox was removed when listing with eBay-hosted (EPS) pictures. Today, the Picture Show checkbox and additional URL textboxes it controlled were removed from the window tab used when adding a self-hosted picture. The Picture Show widget (small slideshow at the top-left of the item page) continues to display...

This week we've released a code change that greatly improves the performance of Picture Manager on Internet Explorer on Windows when opening folders of pictures stored on eBay servers. Page load times on broadband connections can be up to 10 times faster. The speed improvements help both browsing and managing of folders in My eBay and inserting pictures into listings on the Sell Your Item form. In addition, while speeding up performance for IE, the new code also improves performance...

In response to suggestions from members, the rules for adding pictures to listings with bids or that have less than 12 hours remaining have been updated to provide more flexibility. The changes mostly apply to listings that use eBay Picture Services, but also include the ability to add one non-eBay hosted picture (the one that is displayed at the top-left and below the description on the item page) to listings that do not already have one. As previously allowed, non-eBay pictures can also be...

Based on member inputs, we have redesigned the process for installing the eBay Enhanced Picture Services software, an ActiveX control for Internet Explorer that enables image adjustments and faster picture uploads to eBay. The changes described here will appear on the site within the next several days. Note that the ActiveX control itself is not being updated, so if you already have the most current version installed you will not need to use the installation process at this time. Overview...

As previously announced, we are making Gallery pictures free (included with the insertion fee) on the US, CA, and some other eBay sites as part of the price changes effective 2/20 next week (and at a later date for some of the international sites). While removing the separate fee for Gallery, we are also modifying some of the rules used to determine which source picture is used for generating the Gallery thumbnail pictures. Information about that product change was posted as part of the price...

There are changes upcoming to eBay picture hosting over the next few months that we are announcing here today. Copy Web Files uploader on SYI Later this month, we're introducing a new upload option for eBay-hosted item pictures. It's called "Copy Web Files" and appears as a new tab in the Add Pictures window on the Sell Your Item form. It's intended to make adding pictures to your listings much easier if you manage your pictures on a web server. It should be especially useful to sellers...
