Hi All - My name is Jed and I'm the new Sports Memorabilia Category Manager. I wanted to introduce myself to the boards, hear whats on your minds and figure out how we can help. Also, thought I would mention that there is a note on this board from Cateogry Manager Drewbie. Drewbie is still here and I am working with him on this category. Please post directly to this board. I'll be checking in regularly. I look forward to hearing from you! Best regards, Jed

Hello, my question is reguarding the 1952 topps psa mantles being sold here on ebay. I am nineteen yrs old and have been collecting cards with my father since i was nine. After my father passed i decided i would work and save to purchase the one card he always wanted but never could afford. After a year and a half later i have managed to save a total of $11,550.00 towards the purchase of a graded 52 mantle. My question is should i only purchase from a psa authorized distributor or could someone...

Greetings- I am about to ship out a Babe Ruth Autograph to PSA/DNA for verification. The signature (Cut-Out) is framed and matted...(I have to remove the autograph for certification purposes.) As collectors go, would you suggest I get it encapsulated or just place it back in the frame? Which would you think is more desirable to a collector? Many Thanks!-Lou

Where did you buy your baseball cards? Now we buy them off the internet or big box stores like Walmart, Target, and even the occasional card store. Did you buy them at nickel and dime stores? Vending at baseball games? The Ice Cream man when he drove his truck down your street? Did you mail away for them? I'm not sure where the masses of kids of your era bought the cards. Were you probably not aware of many productions (let's say 1960 Fleer) until they surfaced in the 1970's?

Was searching in my favorite category today (50s baseball) and on the first and second page noticed all BIN listings, literally zero auctions. Looked up and saw there were 100,000 items listed, when I clicked on "auctions only" it narrowed to 8,000. Can any eBay veterans confirm for me whether or not auction-style listings are shrinking in comparison to past years? What was the mix of BINS vs. Auctions previously? I'm also getting emails from eBay for half-off auction listings....

I am selling lots of high end items for a client and he has tons of wonderful signed sports memorabilia that he wants to sell. Are there any great consignors of this type of item? For example, he has the following for sale (and all come with certificates of authenticity...) Michael Vick Helmet Andre Agase Tennis Raquet Michael Jordan basketball Roger Clement Glove Pete Rose Ball and, he has, believe it or not, a copy of The Opus XL Super Bowl book to sell (sells on amazon for $3K!!)...

They are about 4" x 3" and I am told they are from the 50's and they were put on then card boxes and thet say " Topps 1/2 Certificate" and on the backs they have items that you can get if you save enough like a shirt, watch, clock, stockings, etc. I was told they came off boxes of cards in the 50's. Please let me know if anyone knows anything about these !

I've noticed a lot of sellers putting old BGS label in their title and item description. I know that BGS has changed their labels in the past but do the old labels garner a premium? Why?

I've been offered a TY COBB signed ball dated 1923 and it is certified by Chris Morales who is supposed to be a top authenticator. Have you heard of him and what do you think a good offer would be for this ball for resale? Nice bold signature... thanks....

Does anyone here have experience working with video/motion software? I'm looking for a program to capture and review pitching and hitting, then be able to slow the video down, draw reference lines, etc. I would appreciate software recommendations. Thanks.
