This advice relates to a particular scam carried out by some people living in Nigeria but elements of it may be useful for other scam buyers. All members should read this important warning. If you shop on websites other than eBay, you should exercise caution if someone emails you claiming to be an eBay representative! We are seeing an increase in reports of fake eBay Motors transactions that originate automotive websites other than eBay, such as Craigslist. I collect jewelry, some of the pieces do go for a lot, so I would like to protect myself by allowing only the right people to view my past purchases. Is there a way to change the feedback options such that this goal can be realized?

I have noticed questionable bidding on several items from a seller. They have one buyer consistently making only one bid, about half way through the bidding, and never buying. They also have 0 feedback, and only bid on items from three different sellers. Seems very very funny. Anyone noticing something like this ???

Hi there, I need your help. About a month ago, I ordered a custom-made Wedding guest book and pen set from ebay. The seller had 100% feedback and nice photos, so I thought everything would be fine. She warned that it would up to 2 months before she could ship it. Well, 2 months later I got the package. I bought a purse from a seller. I asked if I could pay for the purse in installments,seller said no problem. She now claims that the price of the bag is 25.00 more than what I bought it for. I told her I want a refund. I paid her 600.00. I filed for a dispute for $400.00 on my credit card,but the other $200.00 was paid cash (not using paypal) . Is there any recourse for me at all? Can she really just "steal" money like that from me? I have sent repeated emails and left voicemails...no...

I bought an item for $ 975 which required me to pay via paypal immediately. After I paid for it I realized the seller is in good standing but hasn't sold anything for a year. I checked and the seller is paypal verified. But I haven't received any communication from the seller and it has been almost 24 hours. I am also noticing that there is a discrepancy between the item desc. and the picture listed, further making me nervous What should I do, keep waiting or notify someone at ebay?...

Hello everyone, I recently bid on an item and won the bid. But after winning the auction, I realized that the 1st and last letters of the latecomer bidder who bid against me in the last minutes of the auction were the same as the seller. I went ahead and paid for my item, but I'm wondering: 1) Isn't it against the rules for a seller to bid against prospective buyers on their own item for sale? 2) If it is against the rules, who do I report that to to look into it? I'm guessing all ebay...

Im not sure if there is already an existing thread for this warning, but i just want to inform you ebayers of this scam which i almost fell right through it. This is a listing for a 'Lot of 20 iphones 3gb 3gs unlocked' being sold by a power-seller. *note: long read* I found out about it while i was searching over the iphones category on ebay and i came across this advertisement with amusement because of the 'claimed' prices of the iphones. 3 iphone 32gb 3gs = $1200 5 iphone 32gbs...

I am a part-time seller and my history with eBay selling is long. My questions is: If you know in your heart you have an item which is the "real deal" and the buyer claims it isn't? Yes, we are currently in arbitration. It is sounding like it is leaning in the buyers favor. What about the honest people and their rights? There are a lot of counterfeit "Beatles Remastered Stereo Box Sets" being sold on ebay. The majority are imported from Asia. They are very well done and to the naive may appear to be authentic. Here are the most commonly reported signs that the set is fake: a. Printing errors on the individual digipak albums contained within the box. Looking for aprons for my shop and found this auction for 145 cotton aprons. Shipping of $1,376.00 ...... seem a little high? How much could light cotton aprons weigh? Even 145 of them. They are coming from China...but does that sound right? Am I going loco ..... or this a way out of line excessive shipping fee? No bids on them yet. Wonder why. Guess I`ll go to Jo-Ann stores and buy fabric to make my own.
