WHY ARE THE SELLERS' NOT BEING HEARD!

It seems to me that we are wasting our breath posting questions and comments. Ebay personnel is vaguely answering only the 'easy' questions. I have yet to decide what to do. We have been on Ebay since 1998 and were one of the reasons Ebay Motors was created.

Our auctions state 'Returns not accepted' and always have, but we do consider on a case by case basis. We had a gentleman start an item not as described case and escalated immediately. Not only did I refund the purchase price + shipping, when I tracked the item out for delivery, I refunded the return shipping costs! Unfortunately, I refunded all before receiving the item. Once received, we opened the packaged and the item was damaged! There was NO possibility of it being damaged during shipping as the 'piece' that was missing was not in the box. I believe he returned his broken item that he replaced with our part.

He then gave us positive feedback, but #1 DSR's in EVERY category. How is that not slanderous? How can a buyer control the amount of my bill that I pay Ebay? My payments pay the salaries of the Ebay staff, not the buyers'.

I would like a way for a seller to have the ability to block any buyer that has less than 250 feedbacks. In the least, I have a better chance of dealing with someone that CARES about what they do to a seller.

A strike means nothing to a buyer, they can create a new buyer account and continue on their way. I can't create a new selling account without costing me a fortune and rebuilding what we have had for the past 13 years.

I wonder what Ebay will do with buyers with nothing to buy? It sickens me to talk to customer service reps and never can one speak to a supervisor, they are not available and I have NEVER received a return call. Instead they hang up, nice people.

Money and greed is all it boils down to. Ebay can preach all they want about a consumer having the ability to publicly slam or affect sales discounts of huge chain stores, but in reality we as sellers are being forced to conform. My fees go up, so does my price, no choice. I am not selling on Ebay to pay their salaries, I am selling to pay MY employees salaries...

These decisions and changes that Ebay is implementing are flat out wrong and unfair to the sellers'. The bosses make me sick...

I agree with your comment Ebay seems to side with the buyer and not the seller. Several times I have been cheated out money because the case seems to fall on the side of the seller. I do believe it's time to move to another on-line auction. I have been an ebayer now for 9 years, it might be time for a change

Happy to hear somone sticking up for us sellers, I believe that sellers need the ability to leave negative feedback for the buyers whom don't pay & whom do specific actions such as what you stated, without a warning...we have no clue what we are in store for!!!!

In my opinion, the biggest slam against sellers is the seller fees. 9% including shipping seems a bit excessive. Maybe 3% or 5% without including shipping would be more fair. To be constructive and not just venting my frustrations, I think that ebay should implement a program to reward reasonable shipping costs. For example, for the clothing and purse catagories, if we keep the shipping cost under $10 maybe we shouldnt have to include the shipping cost in the final value fee. It could be based on each catagories average realistic shipping cost. I know they started including the shpping in the final value because of the people who sell things for $1 and charge $50 to ship (so they would only pay close to 9 cents instead of almost $5). What about the sellers that are actually being fair with shipping? A few bad apples are ruining the whole pie.

They tell sellers to lower their shipping or have free shipping to lower the final value costs. In reality, it does cost to ship things. Covering shipping cuts into our profits. They need to understand that. We are doing this to make money, not because it's just so darn entertaining to type up listings, package items, and make a trip to the post office every day.

Ditto! We won a case two years ago against a buyer trying to commit fraud against us.We were hit with 2 negative feedback for one purchase, it dropped our score by 17 percent. It took a year to get back to 100%. Recently a buyer left a comment that our shipping was slow. We shipped the item the same day as the purchase and it arrived in two days. Our shipping policy states, we normally ship in one business day and the item should be received 2-3 days after shipping. How can a buyer be able to leave a comment like that when we have exceeded, what is stated in our policy, and we can't say anything negative to them. There has got to be better standards, Q&A for the buyers, that will not allow them to leave potentially damaging feedback to a seller with 100% or high feedback. We work our A..'s off to maintain high Feedback Scores, we have had to do whatever is necessary to please the buyer, which is fine to a certain extent. Their must be a better way! Maybe, the buyers comments should be eliminated or pre-loaded to a dropdown menu with a limited selection. Just a thought! Hey, both buyers and sellers make Ebay what it is, there should be equal rights and penalties for both! recovery4LifeShop

Tricia Avery-Will With all do respect, the sellers' have had to submit to several changes not within our best interest, but for Ebay's and the buyers'.

If I treated my customers in the same manner as Ebay is treating their sellers, we would not longer have a ...customer base.

I understand that Ebay believes they are 'helping' with rules and regulations, but when does the time come for the seller to be protected?

First, our ability to publically warn other sellers of a deadbeat buyer disappeared, because some were behaving unethically. Yet rather than punishing the ones that were creating the situation, Ebay chose to punish those of us that FOLLOWED the rules.

Secondly, our 'reward discounts' are in the hands of people that do not have to pay fees and says this is fair to the sellers. We, as sellers', do not have time to respond before the buyer is able to escalate and affect our discounts. My discount should not be determined by an opinion of someone who is not following the rules.

We were pushed into 'Free Shipping' just so the 'POWER' of the buyer could be controlled to some degree. Then to take a percentage of MY shipping costs? I can guarantee that Ebay nor Paypal are paying what we are charged for shipping labels. Sure we get a small discount because of volume, but I consider that double dipping into my operating costs.

Sellers' are not heard, sellers' are not taken into consideration, sellers' are treated as bottom feeders, yet we are the businesses that pay your salary...if not for the sellers, EBAY WOULD MAKE $0...See More
